This three-storey property at the top of Runswick Bay offers sociable spaces designed for entertaining families and groups. Just 80 yards from the coastal footpath, the cottage is 1 mile from the village and the pretty beach, where you can spot seals, build sandcastles and take a dip in the water. From here, you can join The Cleveland Way National Trail, with its dramatic, varied landscapes, or explore further inland.

Climb a small set of steps to enter the property. Inside, the contemporary decor blends tastefully with the cottage’s attractive original features. On the ground floor is a living room and an open-plan kitchen/diner with a breakfast bar that seats three and a dining table for six — both rooms are equipped with wood burners for cosy evenings. The first floor accommodates king, twin and single bedrooms, as well as a separate bathroom and a shower room. And a top floor provides double and king-sized bedrooms, the latter offering stunning views across the bay.

The expansive garden is enclosed and made private by hedging. Stepping stones across the lawn lead to an area of patio and deck with cushioned sun loungers and attractive potted plants. It’s here that the ‘den’ is found — an outbuilding with toys, games, table football, space to store bicycles, and a counter area to prepare snacks and drinks.

The house was comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. The parking was tight but we were made aware of this. The information provide by the company was accurate and detailed. Communications were timely and clear. We have already considered booking again for next year.

This was a return visit for three generations of the Bird/Dunnett family - all eight of us! We loved the house and location last time and so were keen to come back. Greatly well-equipped house catering for all our kids (10, 8 and 2). Table tennis tournaments aplenty! Amazing beach: fantastic house and location, in short!

Our three families have all had a brilliant week here and the house is absolutely perfect. We appreciate all the little extras you provided, they made for a very comfrotable stay. This house really was well-equipped. It was our first time in Whitby and we enjoyed it so much and will definitley be back!'

"We have had a fantastic holiday and the house has been perfect for our two families. The children loved the den and the space they had in the garden and house. We had a great time. The house is very well equipped, with everything you could need. Nice enclosed garden perfect for small children.

A very well equipped and comfortable house with a lovely garden. Table tennis, pool and table football in the garden shed which were enjoyed by all ages. The house is close to the beach, but it should be noted that it is a very steep hill down to the beach (and back up!).
