With breath-taking views over Almscliffe Cragg and the surrounding countryside, this stylish property provides the perfect base to explore North Yorkshire and The Yorkshire Dales.

This gorgeous lodge-style property is a sheer treat for couples and small groups seeking a Yorkshire escape with plenty of home comforts. Nestled in rural splendour on the cusp of the Victorian Spa town of Harrogate, you’ll discover a marvellous landscape for walking and cycling topped with endless opportunities to sample mouth-watering local fare in a country inn. Panoramic views of the surrounding countryside provide a jaw-dropping background for all those al fresco meals you’ll soon be enjoying, and for some extra star-studded pizazz, why not uncork a bottle of something fizzing to round off your evening in style?

Inside is spacious, sleek and supremely stylish with underfloor heating beneath the wooden floorboards to keep you toasty on chilly evenings. Laid out in an open-plan style with high ceilings, comfortable furniture and bi-folding glass doors, the lounge/kitchen/diner is the heart of the home and expertly equipped for spending quality time with your nearest and dearest. Sink into the sofas with a bowl of snacks or delve into your welcome pack, switching on the TV to watch a film or browsing the Sky TV menu for your favourite shows. On crisp autumn days and gentle spring mornings, the views across the countryside are simply wonderful from the vantage point of the sofa.

Make the most of Harrogate’s eclectic foodie scene and load your baskets with locally sourced goodies and artisan produce, returning to channel your inner chef and rustle up a feast. You’ll have an electric oven and hob at your disposal as well as a handy microwave and ample dining space for special mealtimes. Those who can’t resist a high-quality caffeine fix first thing will adore the De’Longhi coffee machine, just the ticket for a soothing brew outside. In terms of practicality, you’ll also have a washing machine and a dishwasher to take care of dirty dishes and muddy clothes.

Wash away your cares and indulge yourself with the bubbliest of bubble baths in the bathroom, treating yourself to a well-deserved pamper session. There’s a useful shower over the bath and a WC, and the overall vibe of the room is calming thanks to the contemporary tiling. Weary and in need of a restful night’s slumber, your sleeping quarters have been dressed to perfection. Snuggle up under the soft covers of the dreamy super-king-size bed in the first bedroom, or choose whether to have the zip-and-link beds in the adjacent room made up as pretty twin beds or a lavish super-king-size bed. Both rooms feature wooden flooring, impressive decor and attractive accessories to complete the overall ambience.

Pour yourself a glass of wine and slip outside to bask in the majesty of your superb, enclosed garden. The raised patio is a wonderful setting for supper under the stars, preferably with a blanket tucked around your legs and a hot toddy on chilly nights for added hygge appeal. On clear days you can admire the stunning sight of Almscliffe Cragg in the distance whilst livestock graze in the surrounding fields. Fire up the BBQ and sizzle up something special on balmy afternoons, then toast marshmallows in the fading embers for dessert.

Please note that the property has a private water supply and is set in utter seclusion for a true taste of rural life. The bumpy farm track provides the only access, so you are guaranteed privacy to fully relax and unwind.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Make a trip to Fewston Reservoir, 6 miles from the holiday home, where you can undertake a 4-mile walk around the picturesque lake. This is one of four beautiful reservoirs in the Washburn Valley, alongside Thruscross, Swinsty and Lindley Wood reservoirs. Extend your walk to 7 miles by taking in Swinsty too.

Make a 14-mile foray into the national park to see the famous Coldstones Cut sculpture, situated above a working mine, or visit Ripley Castle, 5 miles away, where you can wander the splendid parkland grounds and visit the deer park. Take time out to go to the fascinating Stump Cross Caverns, 16 miles from your base, to see the limestone caves or make a trip out to the National Trust’s Brimham Rocks, 11.5 miles away, with its unusual natural rock formations.

The grand Victorian spa town of Harrogate, regularly listed as the best place to live in the UK, is just 3 miles from this fabulous holiday home. The truly gorgeous Yorkshire town combines traditional elegance with contemporary style effortlessly.

Best known for its antiques and fine art, Harrogate has antique dealers and galleries around every corner, particularly around the Montpellier Quarter. If buying old paintings and furniture isn’t your passion, there are a host of other reasons to part with your cash in Harrogate. High fashion outlets nestle alongside lavish interior boutiques, punctuated with enough fine restaurants and cafes to keep you fuelled for weeks.

A visit to Bettys Tearooms is a must and, if you have time, we highly recommend a session at the famous Turkish Baths. Rejuvenate spirit and soul after a day on the town. If you are travelling with children, Harrogate is famous for its outdoor space with lots of parkland and greenery everywhere.

Harrogate is also very close to the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors, so it makes the perfect base from which to explore the glorious Yorkshire landscape and its many stunning natural sights. The breathtaking Nidderdale is 10 miles north-west, and you will be driving through some of the most dramatic Dales scenery. We highly recommend a day trip to gorgeous Ilkley (18 miles) combined with a visit to Bolton Abbey, 17 miles away.

York is within easy reach (21 miles) and a trip to this beautiful medieval city is well worth it, with plenty to keep you busy all day long.

Am amazing location, wrap-around views of the countryside with close proximity to Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales. Hard to beat for 'getting away from it all'. The property was very comfortable and relaxing. However we were only the second guests to stay here and there were some areas which felt not quite ready.
