Discover your perfect retreat and choose this gem of a property that sleeps six in a truly special location. This enchanting wooden cabin is set against a tapestry of gnarled trees, sweeping hillsides and sprawling countryside, providing exclusive access to a wealth of scenic trails. The nearby village of Great Ayton is an excellent vantage point for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The iconic landmark Roseberry Topping is located within close proximity, with routes to the top so you can enjoy the spectacular views from the summit. The village of Stokesley is a must-visit, with cobbled streets, boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs, and restaurants. You’ll be just 27.5 miles from Whitby, a gem of a destination studded into the wild and beautiful Yorkshire coastline.

Approach via the veranda, admiring the cheerful wooden exterior, and arrive inside to find an inviting, spacious hallway. Your accommodation is well laid out and stylishly decorated with individual design features that will make for a memorable stay. In true lodge character, the warmth of the natural wood blends tastefully with a contemporary interior for the ultimate hygge atmosphere. Exposed brickwork and wooden panelling add to the cosy charm, so you’ll feel enveloped in comfort as you curl up on the sofas to watch the Smart TV.

At mealtimes, the kitchen is at your disposal for whipping up extravagant feasts, best enjoyed around the dining table in the lounge. This chic kitchen space features an induction hob, electric oven/grill, microwave, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher for your convenience. There is also a handy boot room (that also features a washing machine) off the kitchen where you can leave your wet boots and coats. Completing the ground floor accommodation is a downstairs bathroom with a bath and WC.

Venture upstairs when it's time to go to bed and take your pick of the bedrooms, all three have been lovingly furnished for a restful night’s sleep. Those with youngsters in tow will love the king-size bedroom with two additional single-chair beds, ideal for a family. This room also has a private balcony – a lovely spot for relaxing with a morning coffee. There is also a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, and all rooms come with quality bedding and fluffy robes for each guest. The large landing area has a further chair bed which can open to become an additional single bed for one extra guest. There is also a luxurious shower room with a shower and WC, with handy cosmetic dispensers and cosy robes.

Outside, the attractive decking sweeps around the lodge and gives access to the private hot tub with nearby outdoor seating. Enjoy balmy evenings here, bubbling in the hot tub and tucking into delicious al fresco feasts! Your four-legged friend can also enjoy their own space in the ‘doghouse’. The attractive village of Great Ayton has a wonderful village vibe. With a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms, you could eat out every night if you wanted to. As home to a young Captain Cook, there is also the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum which allows you to explore his early life in the surrounding area. If you love to walk, from Great Ayton you can walk up to Roseberry Topping (2 miles); a prominent hill with lots of walking trails that lead up to the distinctive summit and cliffs.

The vibrant little village of Osmotherley (15 miles) is well-known as a starting point for walkers and cyclists. This gorgeous little place is real picture-postcard stuff. It also offers excellent facilities including a cafe, village stores and a fish and chip shop. If you're a bit of a foodie, this part of Yorkshire is packed with fantastic gastropubs, restaurants and delis. Situated within the western reaches of the North York Moors, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, Osmotherley has close proximity to lush pastures and woodlands. The western moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market town and the views from here are simply stunning, and there are walks and cycle routes in every direction. You are very close to the famous Cleveland Way as well as many more well-known and picturesque moorland walks, some of which lead all the way to the sea.

Great Ayton’s position at the northern end of the North York Moors means the coast is easily accessible from here. To breathe in the fresh, sea air, head to the seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea (11 miles) with its pier, cliff tramway, golden sand and clean surf.

This is a beautiful spacious property with lovely facilities. The setting and surroundings are equally beautiful and peaceful. The bistro and spa nearby are handy. The food is wonderful!

Lovely lodge and very attentive staff when we encountered a difficulty/getting us a booking at the bistro. Ideal location for exploring the local area, loads of walks and eateries nearby. Only drawback was the smells from the dairy farm next door- fresh country air!
