Beautiful cottage 5 minute walk from local pub with good beer and food. Log burner with free logs supplied. One of the best cottages weve stayed at. We highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. The only slight comment Id make would be that the living accommodation is quite dark. Plenty lights, but time of year and positioning of cottage meant that we needed to use the lights. That is fairly minor as both Steve and Georgina are excellent hosts and SO helpful.

Our only comment regarding comfort is that it badly needs a new matress in main bedroom. Both husband and I got back ache every night and the slightest movement by the other caused partner to bounce all over the place! Most uncomfortable. New one needed. Otherwise we loved it.Great location, loveRead morely cottage and non intrusive owners. We shall book again and hope the mattress has been changed!!

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Mandy,Thank you for taking the time to complete a review it is appreciated! I am delighted you loved your stay and I agree the cottage is in a great location. I am sorry that you experienced back ache from the mattress. The owners do turn the mattress on the suggested 12 week cycle and the owners would have been happy to turn this for you if they knew you had issues with it. I am delighted that you would stay in Barley Cottage again and we do look forward to welcoming you back to Yorkshire. Take care!Louise Hide

An elegantly presented cottage with a secure garden perfect for a dog. Our greyhound was very happy lazing around as we barbecued meat in the evening sun. The bed was comfortable, the shower excellent, the kitchen works and the garden is south facing, maximising the sunset view across golden fields. Lovely.
