This characterful converted barn is in the heart of a peaceful Yorkshire village which caters towards families and reunions wanting a spacious yet cosy and comfortable rural escape.
This gorgeous holiday home is in a picturesque location in a village with ancient roots. Tucked away down a quiet lane, you can enjoy a tranquil countryside location yet still benefit from the pub and shop with a post office less than 200 metres from the front door. The property is situated in Yorkshire’s famed ‘Golden Triangle’, almost equidistant between Harrogate (12.5 miles) and York (10 miles). With ample space for up to ten people, this home is bursting with contemporary country-style charm and all the creature comforts you want in an inviting home-from-home.
As soon as you step in the front door, you’ll feel the warm welcome of an imposing reception hall with a galleried landing that adds a touch of elegance. Head straight through the double doors and marvel at the cinema room, where plush seating with room for everyone to stretch out, neutral colours and a cosy wood burner make this the perfect place to snuggle up and enjoy a film on the large TV with the whole family. If you’d prefer the peace and quiet, sneak off to the lounge where soothing shades of green and blue beckon you to sink into the sofa and unwind. There’s even a small library where you can take your pick of novels and get comfortable, ready to delve into another world.
The stunning farmhouse kitchen is the heart of the home, with beautiful exposed brick and wooden beams taking centre stage. Pretty cabinets and soft natural tones mean it’s a pleasure to cook up meals for everyone to enjoy at the roomy dining table looking out to the garden; on balmy evenings dine alfresco on the patio to take in the last of the sun. The walled garden is a pleasure in itself to wander around, stopping to admire the established plants or simply to enjoy being outside sitting on the covered wooden bench. Back inside, there’s a utility room with a washing machine and dryer so you never have to worry about coming in muddy from long walks.
When it’s time for bed, you’ll find a self-contained suite up its own flight of stairs which is home to a king-size zip-and-link bed along with a separate sitting room that has a small library of books. Wind down with a spot of TV cuddled up on the sofa among soothing tones before snuggling into bed. Wake up and take an invigorating shower in the en-suite before heading down for breakfast.
If you’re not lucky enough to nab the suite, up the main staircase you’ll find a king-size bedroom where exposed beams, rustic furniture and windows to the front and rear overlooking the garden and country lane make for a perfect night’s sleep. Relax on the sofa before bed or enjoy an indulgent soak in the bathroom among calming pastel decor.
Further down the hall, the quirky twin bedroom uses calming neutrals and grey hues to create an atmosphere ideal for sleep, while a further king-size bedroom is a peaceful haven to retreat to among exposed beams, sloping ceilings and pale, cosy tones. There’s also an en-suite shower room so you won’t be queuing in the mornings. Snooze in style in the brass bed in the final king-size bedroom, where the calming tones of the ocean are paired with creams and yellows that complement the views out to the garden through the windows. Read the papers on the sofa in the morning before hopping into the shower for the ideal wake-up call.
