Ideally located with a vast amount of surrounding countryside, perfect for nature lovers and those wanting to explore on foot or two wheels, or head further up to Malhamdale

This charming cottage near the Yorkshire town of Settle is bursting with comfort and character, making it the perfect rural retreat for friends/families. Not only is it situated on the south-eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it is also close to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which allows guests to discover the abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife in both of these stunning areas. You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to getting out and enjoying the fresh, country air, as there are plenty of walking and cycling routes/trails on your doorstep and beyond. This wonderful home allows you to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the countryside, but is conveniently located only 1.5 miles from the lively market town of Settle with its range of independent shops and eateries and a wealth of heritage. After a busy day exploring, you'll be relieved to return home for a relaxing soak in the private hot tub. It is one of two properties at this location.

Sympathetically restored, this property's wealth of original features have been beautifully incorporated into its clean, contemporary-cottage style. A neutral palette has been used throughout with muted colours, warm wooden tones and high quality fixtures and fittings adding a touch of class.

On entering the property, you'll find yourself in the kitchen/diner where the light walls and contemporary lighting create a bright and inviting space. Making clever use of the space, the kitchen is built under the staircase. Whilst it is compact, it is modern and well-equipped to ensure you have everything you need to cook up some treats to be enjoyed at the large dining table, where there's plenty of seating for everyone. Around the corner, you will find yourself in the lounge. Here, the original fireplace and wood burner is the focal point, with a range of comfortable seating to sink into at the end of the day.

Also on the ground floor is the master double bedroom with its large en-suite wet room, which doubles up as a utility room with the washing machine cunningly tucked into the wall.

On the first floor, exposed beams and quirky windows add rustic charm to the further two double bedrooms. Both rooms have a Smart TV and en-suite bathrooms that have been finished to a very high standard.

Outside, there are courtyards to the front and rear of the property. To the front, there is dining furniture for al fresco dining as well as the private hot tub. To the rear, there is another enclosed courtyard, which is perfect for dogs and children. There is secure bike racking available as well as off road parking for two cars and two electric charge points.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Settle (2 miles) is a well-loved and bustling market town home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday, the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. If real ale is your thing, there are three fantastic real ale pubs set around the market place, so you can choose which one to try each evening!

Just outside of town you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct (13 miles). Beyond Settle you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. And as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.

The historic town of Skipton (17.5 miles) is also close by and offers a host of other attractions including its very own castle. There are lots of options to eat here as well as independent shops marking it a great option for a full day out. Other nearby attractions include the Kilnsey Trout Farm and horse-riding at Coniston, Malham.

It's a true walker's paradise here but if you're more of a roamer than a rambler, try a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey (23.5 miles). These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit. There are a host of other attractions all within easy reach including Malham Cove and Malham Tarn (both 8.5 miles).

Stunningly beautiful. Every detail in the cottage has been thought out. The decor and comfort of the barn conversion has been done to a superb standard. A lovely log burner waiting to be out after our walks along the hills and across the river. Would definitely recommend

Lovely cottage. Clean and airy. Great beds. Ample pillows and cushions. Downstairs wet room very useful. Kitchen well equipped. Good size oven. Living room a bit small okay for the 3 of us. Any more and itd have been a bit tight. Passively reconditioned property but still warm. Only lit the log burner once. Was a bit warm in the small living room.
