Keen walkers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to routes and trails; whether you want an arduous hike or a relaxing stroll, there is bound to be something to suit your needs. Askrigg is in the stunning valley of Wensleydale, so within a few miles of your property, you are guaranteed rolling hills, breathtaking waterfalls, picturesque riverbanks and majestic castles. It’s also famous for its cheese which is made in the gorgeous market town of Hawes, one of many wonderful towns and villages in the Dales.
This cosy cottage is full of rural charm and character, whilst still retaining a contemporary feel. With exposed beams, light wooden furniture and stone floors, natural materials have been used throughout to echo the natural beauty outside. It is bright and airy, with light walls and muted tones adding a sense of space. You’ll find it easy to relax here, as it’s a home away from home.
On entering, you’ll find yourself in the lounge with its comfy sofas and tasteful decor. The exposed beams and fireplace add a sense of tradition, as does the soft furnishings and choice of furniture. The roaring wood burner makes it the perfect place for snuggling up of an evening, with a good book or in front of the TV. From here, you move through into the country-cottage kitchen/diner, which is well-equipped with everything you’ll need to cook up a storm for you and your guests. The traditional dining table and chairs offer plenty of space for everyone to sit down and dine together. Completing the ground floor is a modern shower room and WC. There are three bedrooms to choose from: a king-size, a double and a single, all of which are spacious, well-furnished and decorated in relaxing tones to ensure a good night’s sleep. There is a family bathroom with a bath, where you can soothe your aching legs after a day in the Dales.
Outside, there is a compact, yet delightful, courtyard, which is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee whilst you plan your adventures for the day. There is roadside parking, subject to availability.
