A perfect property for those looking to get away, with surrounding countryside proving a variety of walks and cycle routes to explore, or head further afield to Kirby Lonsdale or Kendal.

This delightful cottage near the Yorkshire town of Settle is bursting with charm and character, making it the ideal rural retreat for friends and families. Situated on the south-eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it is also close to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, allowing guests to explore the abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife in both of these areas. With plenty of walking and cycling trails on your doorstep and beyond, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to getting out and enjoying the fresh, country air. Whilst it's possible to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the countryside, this property is only 1.5 miles from the bustling market town of Settle with its range of independent shops and eateries, and a wealth of heritage. After a busy day exploring, you'll be relieved to return home where you can soak in the private hot tub. It is one of two properties at this location.

Sympathetically restored, this wonderful property is packed with original features which have been beautifully incorporated into its clean, contemporary-cottage style. A neutral palette has been used throughout with occasional pops of colour, warm wooden tones and tasteful soft furnishings adding comfort and class.

As you enter the property, you'll find yourself in the kitchen/diner where the light walls and contemporary lighting make the space feel bright and airy. Tucked under the staircase, the kitchen is compact, but well-equipped to ensure you have everything you need to cook up some treats. There is a round dining table for four people. Up a couple of steps, you will find yourself in the lounge. Here, the original features take centre stage with quirky exposed stone walls, an inglenook fireplace housing the wood burner and a section of glass flooring that shows off the workings of the old well that is still used for flushing the toilets. This is the ideal place to sink into the sofas of an evening and enjoy each other's company in front of the roaring wood burner.

Upstairs, exposed beams and stone walls add a rustic charm to the immaculate super king-size bedrooms (both of which can be made up as twins on request), as do the unique windows in each room. Both rooms have a Smart TV and en-suite bathrooms that have been finished to a very high standard.

Outside, there are courtyards to the front and rear of the property. To the front, there is dining furniture for al fresco dining as well as the private hot tub. To the rear, there is an enclosed courtyard area.   Secure bike racking is available as well as off-road parking for two cars and two electric charge points.

  • 2 bedrooms – 2 super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as twins on request)
  • 2 en-suite bathrooms
  • Electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave
  • Private hot tub
  • The hot tub is located at the front of the property, alongside the adjacent property which also features a hot tub at the front
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs included)
  • Off road parking for 2 cars
  • 2 Electric charge points
  • Secure bike racking
  • Complex of properties
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Settle (2 miles) is a well-loved and bustling market town home to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There's also a thriving market held in the town every Tuesday, the perfect place to pick up everything from flowers to dinner that night. If real ale is your thing, there are three fantastic real ale pubs set around the market place, so you can choose which one to try each evening!

Just outside of town you can hop on the Settle to Carlisle railway, one of the most scenic routes in the UK which will take you over the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct (13 miles). Beyond Settle, you have the exquisite delights of the Yorkshire Dales. And as you would expect, the surrounding countryside here is simply magnificent, perfect if you want to strike out from the cottage in your walking boots or on your bicycle.

The historic town of Skipton (17.5 miles) is also close by and offers a host of other attractions including its very own castle. There are lots of options to eat here as well as independent shops marking it a great option for a full day out. Other nearby attractions include the Kilnsey Trout Farm and horse-riding at Coniston, Malham.

It's a true walker's paradise here but if you're more of a roamer than a rambler, try a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey (23.5 miles). These gorgeous ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit. There are a host of other attractions all within easy reach including Malham Cove and Malham Tarn (both 8.5 miles).
