Renovated in an upside-down fashion, to make the most of the beautiful countryside views, on the ground floor you will find five sumptuous bedrooms. The first, inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, is bright and spacious, boasting a super-king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath, shower cubicle and WC. Along the corridor is a king bedroom decorated in the style of Gustav Klimt with beautiful regal colours giving a cosy feel. Down the hallway, you will find a unique twin bedroom with quirky paddle-stairs up to a snug area with very low ceilings, an ideal retreat for children. This room is wonderfully bright and inspired by Frida Kahlo. It features games and books. There are two more bedrooms: one double bedroom, inspired by Henri Matisse, and one zip-and-link twin bedroom (which can be made up as a king-size upon request) in the style of David Hockney. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle and WC. Moving upstairs, you will find the main hub of the house, the wonderful lounge/diner with an abundance of original features. There is ample seating for ten in the lounge and a stylish dining table sits in the back of the room, perfect for a family meal. Relax on the comfortable sofas and take in your historic surroundings or stand by the window and paint a picture of the stunning countryside views on the easel and art supplies provided. A spiral staircase leads up to a quirky loft space with low sloping ceilings. It features some games and books as well as an Xbox and Smart TV making it the ideal area for children and teenagers to relax. Off the lounge area, you will find the kitchen, which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee machine. The Chapel of Art was a fantastic place to stay - we only wished that we were staying a week rather than a long weekend. It was very comfortable, spacious and finished with great attention to detail. We loved the views from the living room and had some lovely walks straight out the front door. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property which hadRead more something for everyone from a movie night in the cinema room, to glorious walking and spacious accommodation. We couldn't recommend it more! Hide

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed. Then there's the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, known to have inspired David Hockney. And with a packed calendar of events and festivals each year, including the Malton Food Festival, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Great Yorkshire Show, there's always something exciting to enjoy.

Our holiday cottages in Yorkshire are handpicked to ensure a luxurious and uniquely memorable experience. From dog-friendly cottages in the country to large family houses by the sea and romantic retreats in the city, we have a holiday in Yorkshire to suit everyone.
