See if you can discover one of the several waterfalls in the area including Mallyan Spout, Falling Foss, and Thomason Foss.

Take a tour of the impossibly pretty towns and villages in the area, Whitby and Egton (both 10 miles). A few miles east from here takes you to the stunning North Yorkshire coastline, a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. Really good place to stay there was only one thing I would change. The water pipes made a very load noise whenever the taps were turned on, this was very annoying in the morning or at night with slightly different going to bed/waking up times of our party.

HiThe Cottage was excellent but we were a little let down by the fact that some of the food items you said were provided we did not receive. When we got to the cottage we noticed that there was no jam which I did mention to the owner and she brought a jar immediately but after that we also noticed tRead morehere were no eggs and also no fruit. Also the lights around the BBQ area did not work and there was no lighter fuel and as we were having a BBQ it would have added to our nightI know these are little niggles but probably should be checked especially the basket of food.

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Karen,Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, it is appreciated! I have spoken with the owner regarding the points you have raised and I do apologise that some of the items listed were not provided. We will now be amending the documentation that we send over to the guests, thank you for bringing this to our attention. The owner does not provide lighter fuel for the BBQ but, extra sticks were left at the cottage for you to enjoy the BBQ. The lights around this unfortunately werent working for your stay as the owner has been waiting for an electrician to visit the cottage to connect them, I do hope the candles left helped light the area a little. I do hope we can book you into another Gorgeous Cottage sometime in the future. Please visit us again soon.Take care. Louise Hide
