Set in a stunning North Yorkshire dale, this breath-taking holiday home offers relaxing, light and spacious accommodation and is a fabulous setting for a large family or group of friends to celebrate.

"Perched on a hill above the peaceful hamlet of Low Mill in the North York Moors National Park, this stone cottage is the perfect place for family holidays/reunions. With its breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, you will find it easy to relax, soak up the tranquillity and enjoy quality time with loved ones. There are lots of walking and cycling trails to choose from on your doorstep, so you can get different perspectives on the varied and dramatic landscape within the National Park. And when you return to the house at the end of a busy day, you can choose where and how to recuperate, whether it be soaking in a bubble-filled roll-top bath or sinking into the comfy sofas in front of the wood burner. Market towns and picturesque villages are plentiful near here, so it’s easy to find a pub, cafe or tearoom to quench your thirst or satisfy your hunger.

As you approach the cottage, you will appreciate how its stone exterior blends comfortably into the Yorkshire countryside, looking quaint, yet rugged. It is clearly steeped in history, as demonstrated by the many original features throughout the property, such as exposed stone walls, vaulted ceilings and exposed wooden beams. However, it has been lovingly renovated and restored to create a light, modern home with lots of space and mod-cons.

You enter the house through a stable door into a hall/utility room which offers a handy place to discard muddy boots and coats, leaving them to dry so they’re ready for the next day’s adventures. Adjacent to this room is the long, high-ceilinged kitchen/diner which has a stunning, stone feature-wall and tasteful, country cottage-style units. The contemporary lighting brings light and warmth to the room making it the perfect setting for cooking, eating and socialising.

The lounge is also light, bright and airy, with a continuation of the neutral tones creating a simple elegance. There are sofas to sink into, a wood burner to snuggle up in front of and a TV to entertain you. Also on the ground floor, you will find one of the bedrooms. It’s a delightful, double room with an en-suite bathroom that will take your breath away. The free-standing roll-top bath and the large shower cubicle in the centre of the room are beautifully complemented by the attractive panelling and tiled floor to create a feeling of luxury.

On the first floor, there are three further bedrooms: a double, a twin and a bunk bedroom. All of them are decorated with calming neutral tones to ensure everyone sleeps well. There is also a contemporary, family bathroom on this floor with a shower over the bath. All bedrooms and bathrooms offer views or glimpses of the rural setting.

Outside, there is a large, enclosed garden perfect for family games or the seating on the patio area provides somewhere to sit back and soak up the surroundings with a coffee or tipple of your choice. There is off-road parking for two cars."

Clean, well furnished cottage, beautiful garden and stunning views over the valley and up to the moors. On a small road just a short walk from a pretty general store which has some essentials. Although the lounge was quite small (fine for us 4 but a squash if any more) the bedrooms were clean and light, beds had good quality mattresses (rare for hoRead moreliday cottages). The utility room gives extra space. Good walks from door, lots to visit/do. Hide

Absolutely wonderful. Cottage was spotless. All 6 of us (and the dog) had a well deserved break in a cottage that nobody found fault with. Would love to return.

Really comfortable and well-equipped cottage in an amazing location, the views over Farndale are breathtaking. Travelled far and wide from the central North York Moors location, coast beautiful, moors spectacular. Excellent local pub - a proper Dales pub - closeby. Would definitely stay in the cottage again.

Excellent house sleeping 7 adults from one family. Great to have a lovely garden surrounded by moorland and hills. It was an added bonus having 3 bathrooms. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery and ample pots and pans for cooking. It would have been good to have some hanging rails for clothes in the upstairs bedrooms as there wRead moreere no wardrobes, only drawers. Otherwise and excellent property with lots of space. Hide

This is a fabulous cottage with a lovely enclosed garden which was safe for the children. The location and views are stunning. It was great to wake up in the morning to see a line of pheasants on the fence behind the cottage! Beautifully presented, very clean and comfortable and a real home from home.
