Set in the village of Holtby, a charming little village in the Yorkshire Wolds less than 15 minutes from Central York. You have the best of both worlds here, the delightful small village atmosphere of old Yorkshire twinned with the vibrant city of York.

The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York is one of the best visitor destinations in England. But don't just take our word for it. York (6 miles) is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. Make your way around its medieval cobbled streets and discover its many shops, cafes and restaurants. Holtby is an ideal base from which to explore all that this area has to offer. Still a relatively quiet location in terms of tourism, the Yorkshire Wolds are a range of beautiful low rolling hills rising from the River Humber. The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling. The Wolds are home to many historical homes and religious sites, as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens.

A delightful home from home where we immediately felt comfortable. Michele the owner was available if we needed her but otherwise we were left to ourselves. Tastefully decorated, We loved it and cant wait to visit again next year. Hopefully without the visitation of Storm Eunice next time!

We had a fantastic time. Michelle was very friendly, we were on our honeymoon and they put a bottle of champagne in the fridge for us. There was also cake there and a fantastic jar of home made jam. Cottage was v well equipped, everything you would need in the kitchen, and clean white bedding and nice soft towels. Location was fantastic, in a quietRead more village, really relaxing sitting outside, but you are only a 15 min journey to the centre of York. We also went to Castle Howard & Whitby. Hide

The cottage was in a lovely location not far from York. It was comfortable and cosy with a log burner which was easy to light when the evening chills set in. The owner is based on site and only a phone call away if you have any questions/problems. We would recommend this cottage for either couples or a family of four.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location for exploring York. Beautiful setting in peaceful village location but so near to York itself it was the best of both worlds! Cottage itself is beautiful and perfect for kids and dogs. Michelle is an excellent and friendly host with lots of local knowledge. Would definitely recommend.
