Indulge yourself with a stay at this elegant country cottage, a gorgeous three-bedroom barn conversion set on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park. With its generous open-plan living areas, fantastic indoor games barn and stunning lounge complete with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, this is the perfect choice for families looking for spacious, luxury accommodation.

Dating back to the 1800s, this cottage has been transformed from an old farm building into a spacious and comfortable family holiday home. Step inside to discover the wow-factor open-plan living area home to the kitchen, dining room and lounge. This generous space welcomes you in with its bright decor and heated flooring underfoot.

Let's explore the lounge first: a dramatic and light-filled space enjoying uninterrupted stunning views of the Cleveland Hills from its floor-to-ceiling windows. Patio doors lead you directly out into the garden and overhead you'll find traditional carved beams. If you can drag yourself away from the views, you'll find lots to entertain inside too. Catch a family movie on the TV or just snuggle up on the comfy sofas and chairs for a good old catch-up. A docking station and Bluetooth speaker provides the soundtrack. And don't worry, Wi-Fi is provided if you have teens in tow! Offline fun is provided too with board games, books and toys for children. Maps are also included for the walkers.

Make your way into the well-equipped kitchen to discover it comes complete with all the usual mod cons. There's an induction hob, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave and dishwasher, a must for making short work of those family-sized meals. There's a washing machine in the boot room next door, perfect if you want to wash muddy walking trousers or little one's clothes. There's also a handy downstairs WC.

Pick up some local Yorkshire produce at the farmers' market in nearby Stokesley (4 miles) and settle down to eat at the chunky farmhouse table. Seating six people comfortably, this is a table to create some special family memories around.

There are three bedrooms in this pretty retreat, all of which are upstairs. Parents of younger ones will appreciate the bespoke stair gates at the top and bottom of the staircase. The first bedroom is the fabulous master bedroom complete with a super king-size bed, Juliet balcony and en-suite shower room. Throw open the French doors and drink in those views. Bedrooms two and three are both twin rooms home to two full-size single beds. The family bathroom is also set on the first floor and includes a shower over the bath.

The exterior of this luxury barn conversion is equally impressive with its fully-enclosed lawned garden and large patio that wraps around the barn. Let the kids burn off some steam while you enjoy a sundowner overlooking those beautiful landscapes. Patio furniture and a sun parasol are provided so you can dine alfresco.

Finally explore the impressive indoor games barn; guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained with its table tennis, football, tennis and badminton facilities.

Keen cyclists should note, this property provides lockable bike storage and an outdoor wash area so you can make the most of the breathtaking cycle routes in the area.

Please note there are animals in the adjacent paddocks so children and dogs must be supervised.

This beautiful cottage once belonged to the neighbouring Meynell Hall, a Grade II listed building formally known as Broctune Abbey and home to a group of Cistercian monks many hundreds of years ago.

It’s set in open countryside with stunning views of the Cleveland Hills and the Wainstones, both 5 miles away and part of the famous Cleveland Way walk. The cottage is just outside Great Broughton (1 mile), a pretty village on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park. This lovely village offers two great dining pubs a mile’s walk across the fields from the cottage.

At 4 miles Stokesley is the nearest town. Hosting a market every Friday on its handsome cobbled square, this charming Georgian town offers a host of independent shops, cafes and restaurants to try. There's also a nine-hole golf course and swimming pool. The neighbouring Great Ayton (11 miles) is also well worth a visit. It’s an idyllic Yorkshire village set beside a meandering river, and once the boyhood home of Captain James Cook.

A trip in the other direction will take you into the breathtaking North York Moors (9 miles). Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns.

The much-loved landmark Roseberry Topping (7 miles) is a favourite walk in the area while the beautiful market town of Helmsley is a 19 miles driver and is a must on any visit to this area. If you fancy a little pampering, you'll find a lovely spa here - perfect for a little indulgence - and there are plenty of excellent foodie options in the area.
