Nestled in the heart of The Yorkshire Dales, with views over some of Yorkshire’s most impressive countryside, this detached farmhouse provides a rural retreat for families to make lasting memories.

Immerse yourselves in the enchanting Yorkshire Dales National Park when you stay at this exceptional, stone holiday home, with glorious, far-reaching views. Sleeping up to ten people, the beautiful, former farmhouse in the quiet hamlet of Braidley, 11.5 miles from Aysgarth, offers a total of five bedrooms across its main building and annexe, and looks out over verdant fields and wooded hills.

Perfect for two or three families eager to escape together, or for a group of friends, the impressive property could also suit keen walkers and cyclists as there are some fabulous, scenic footpaths and routes to follow right from the front door. Nestled in the heart of picturesque Coverdale, the farmhouse is also well located for reaching beauty spots, such as Scar House Reservoir in Nidderdale, just 4 miles away, or Aysgarth Falls, 11 miles away.

Wander into the enticing holiday home to find immaculate accommodation that blends the past and the present seamlessly. Stone floors and timber beams are offset by gleaming white walls, interesting artwork and splashes of colour in the furniture and furnishings. The reception hall, with its wood burner, is immediately welcoming and to its left is a boot room where you can keep your outdoor clothing, and which leads to a WC.

The inviting kitchen/diner, with its wooden central island and range-style cooker, is next. This is the perfect place to prepare hearty home-cooked meals for your hungry party and to dine together at the table. Find chairs in here too where you can relax for a moment with your book. There is also a handy, adjoining utility room. Wander on through to the inviting lounge to stoke up the open fire, play games and chat together, or on into the snug next to it, where you can settle down to a film on the Smart TV or open the French windows onto the garden to bring the outside in.

Head upstairs to the first floor to find a king-size bedroom with a beautiful dressing room and a capacious en-suite bathroom with a shower and freestanding bath. A family bathroom and two twins are also at this level.

Make your way into the barn annexe to find another twin bedroom and a double, plus a bathroom, all on the top floor, and a kitchenette, plus another lovely lounge, with a wood burner, downstairs.

Spill out into the garden on sunny days. Sizzle supper on the BBQ as you absorb the views and watch the children play on the grass. You’ll find parking for six cars at the house, plus storage for bicycles.

  • 5 bedrooms - 1 king-size and 2 twins in the main house, 1 double and 1 twin in the barn
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC, 1 en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath, shower and WC, and 1 separate WC in main house; 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC in barn
  • Electric range oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher in main house
  • Kitchenette in barn with fridge and washer/dryer in barn
  • Pantry with additional freezer and wine rack
  • Travel cot and highchair available
  • Wood burner in entrance hall and barn lounge, and open fire in lounge
  • Enclosed lawned garden with patio area, furniture and charcoal BBQ
  • Large driveway for six cars and further parking available in layby (subject to availability)
  • Secure cycle store
  • Please note there is a low wall with large drop on driveway
  • Private water supply
  • Please note there is no phone signal and Wi-Fi can be intermittent
  • Please note that the house is next door to a working farm
  • Shop 8 miles, pub/restaurant 1.5 miles

Access a plethora of winding paths directly from your doorstep, walking or cycling through sheltered dales and a tapestry of rolling fields bordered by dry stone walls. The River Cover is excellent for fly-fishing once you have purchased a permit, but wildlife spotting is a treat throughout the local area. Aysgarth 11.5 miles away is renowned for its picturesque waterfalls, and Hawes is well worth the 20-mile drive to experience the history, heritage and top-notch food. To fully satisfy your thirst for history, Bolton Castle is 12.5 miles away, and there’s more than enough choice of friendly inns scattered throughout the area.

We had a wonderful trip away to East Close as a surprise for a friend. The pictures dont do it justice. The location is breathtaking and the house is stunning. Having the barn with the pool table gives you your own feel of a pub next door. My friend was given the upstairs en-suite where she was made a spa bath whilst looking out onto the scenery. IRead moret even make her weep! Would love to return again. Hide

The house was renovated beautifully, was really well equipped and the views were breathtaking. Highly recommend the home to anyone looking to escape to somewhere quiet and peaceful but still luxurious and comfortable. The hamper and essentials on arrival was a very welcoming touch! Thank you.

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed. Then there's the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, known to have inspired David Hockney. And with a packed calendar of events and festivals each year, including the Malton Food Festival, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Great Yorkshire Show, there's always something exciting to enjoy.

Our holiday cottages in Yorkshire are handpicked to ensure a luxurious and uniquely memorable experience. From dog-friendly cottages in the country to large family houses by the sea and romantic retreats in the city, we have a holiday in Yorkshire to suit everyone.
