Stone cottage boasting country-chic interiors, set within a picture-postcard location in the Yorkshire countryside, ideally situated to explore the North York Moors and the delightful rugged coastline.

Looking out onto a beautiful moors' village, this property is a gorgeous stone-built cottage housing accommodation over three floors. With its country-chic interiors, picture-postcard location and views of the North York Moors beyond the garden fence, it's an idyllic country retreat for couples and young families alike.

The interior of this holiday home is classic country, with all of the contemporary comforts thrown in. The character of the building has been preserved with exposed stonework, ceiling beams and aged timber/stone floors featured throughout.

Downstairs in this North York Moors cottage you'll find a cosy lounge with a wood burning stove and TV alongside a stunning farmhouse kitchen complete with Belfast sink, butcher's block, and flagstone flooring. Patio doors lead out to the garden giving the kitchen a sense of space and light. It also allows you to enjoy the views of the North York Moors over breakfast at your kitchen table.

There is a central hallway in the cottage with winding stairs leading up to the family bathroom and bedrooms above. There is also a convenient cloakroom down here. Parents should note there is a section of open staircase from the hallway up to the first floor, so we ask you take extra care with children

The family bathroom has a lovely roll-top bath, perfect to sink into each evening and there is a separate stand-in shower. It has a bright, fresh look - just what you want in a country cottage bathroom.

The first of the bedrooms is a very sweet twin room with a white and blue theme. There is also ample room in here for a travel cot and this can be supplied if required. The master bedroom occupies the top floor. A lovely cosy room with seagrass flooring, a huge antique iron bed, luxury bed linen and exposed brickwork. A gorgeous room to retreat to after a busy day exploring.

To the rear of this luxury cottage there is a pretty patio area and lawned garden, a lovely spot for al fresco dining in the summer months with plenty of room for little ones to run around too.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • Sleeps 4+1
  • 1 double bedroom with additional single bed and 1 twin bedroom
  • 1 family bathroom located on the first floor with bath, separate shower and WC
  • Hairdryer in attic bedroom
  • Oven, hob, microwave, Belfast sink
  • Electric and central heating included
  • Wi-Fi included wood burner - first basket of logs provided
  • Pub within half a mile, shop within 1 mile
  • 2 dogs welcome
  • Smart LCD TV, MP3 docking station
  • Enclosed garden with seating area

  • Roadside parking available in front of the cottage and additional off road parking in the rear of the pub car park
  • The Wheatsheaf Pub, opposite the cottage allows dogs in the bar
  • The Post Gate Inn which serves Gastro Food  at near by  Egton Bridge accepts dogs
  • The Witching Post, 100 yards from the cottage
  • Approximately 7 minutes drive to the coast

This countryside retreat is situated, in our opinion, in one of the prettiest villages in the North York Moors.

The village boasts several pubs and there are several more fantastic restaurants and gastropubs within the local area. Egton village is famous for the annual gooseberry show every August, thought to be the oldest of its kind in England.

This area of the Moors is particularly blessed with countless pretty towns and villages you could explore, with the added advantage of having the Yorkshire Coast and Whitby just under 7 miles away.

Local attractions include the steam trains of the North York Moors Railway at Grosmont (2 miles), the stunning beaches at Sandsend (7 miles) and Whitby, and the amazing Moors landscape all around.

Perfectly situated opposite the Wheatsheaf hotel and the Witching Post a very short distance away. Lovely walking for the two younger members of our family.

This delightful and quirky cottage is in a quiet village served by two pubs so no need to get in the car for a drink or tasty meal. The surrounding area is breathtakingly beautiful, and Whitby just a short drive away. The pretty garden is a lovely place for a glass of wine and al fresco dining.

We had our 1st Christmas away from home & we were not disappointed. It was a lovely cosy cottage, with everything you needed. The landlord at the Wheatsheaf opposite the cottage was lovely & friendly. The food was great too. Loved his mucky bread!

Lovely property for two couples. Not brilliant for children. However, there is a lovely garden with beautiful views and it is situated in a great location for Whitby and going into the Moors. Lovely pub opposite the property.

The cottage is well decorated, clean and homely. The garden was fine and secure for the dogs. the lounge was smaller than expected but as we were a couple only that was fine. All in all a nice place to stay for a short break in the area.

Lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need, including 2 pubs literally across the road, both dog friendly and serve excellent food and hospitality. We had amazing weather and there was loads to do within a 15 minute drive into Whitby or jump on the steam train to Scarborough. Fab place and sad to leave!
