Contemporary holiday cottage located in the centre of the pretty town of Middleham, sitting on the outskirts of the picturesque Yorkshire Dales offering a combination of town and countryside at this retreat.
Discover this contemporary and luxurious two-bedroom holiday cottage set in one of the Yorkshire Dales' prettiest small towns. With its eclectic stylish interiors, beautiful countryside views and central location to Middleham's cafes, pubs and restaurants, this is the perfect retreat for couples who enjoy a spot of town and country living.
Middleham is a picture-postcard little town set around a Georgian market square in the heart of Wensleydale. You'll find this cottage (whose name is Yorkshire for 'The End One' in case you're wondering) at the bottom of a handsome stone terrace tucked behind the market square.
Step inside to discover quirky and contemporary interiors with a subtle nod to the lively style of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Access to the cottage is to the rear where you'll find a spacious and pleasant kitchen/diner. All the usual mod cons are provided including a dishwasher, oven, hob and washing machine/dryer. Serve dinner on the retro glass table with its collection of modern seating. A Bluetooth speaker allows you to provide your own background music. Grab some yummy local produce from one of the shops in Leyburn (2 miles) and sit down to a romantic meal for two.
Make your way through to the lounge, a generous room with a cosy wood burner at its heart. Take your pick from the comfy leather sofa, classic armchairs or striking lime green easy chair to flop down on. High ceilings and panelled walls give this room an elegant and period feel. Entertainment is provided in the form of a TV with DVD player. Wi-Fi is also available. With the fire roaring, it's a delightful room to just settle down in and catch up for the evening.
Both bedrooms in this property are upstairs. The master bedroom is set to the rear of the house and enjoys uninterrupted views of the glorious Wensleydale countryside. Stretch out on the king-size bed and enjoy a spot of morning telly in your PJs. The second bedroom sits at the front and offers another king-size bed. A further TV and DVD player provide extra entertainment in this room. Please note as with many older properties, the staircase in the cottage is quite steep and so the property is not suitable for anyone with mobility restrictions.
Next door, you'll find a lovely bright shower room complete with a large walk-in shower. The perfect place to get ready for a day's sightseeing in the Dales or dinner at one of the local gastropubs.
Outside the cottage is a charming courtyard garden with fabulous views taking advantage of the elevated position. Dine alfresco around the outdoor table while a water feature provides the background sound. A sail canopy overhead during the summer months ensures you are comfortable in the midday sun and mood lighting keeps it nice and cosy when the sun begins to dip. A BBQ is provided for those balmy summer evenings.
There is also off-road parking for 2 cars, something of a rarity in Middleham.
This property welcomes children over 12 years old.
