Sumptuous, stylish and boasting a marvellous combination of retro style and contemporary flair, this enchanting property sleeps eight and is situated within a sleepy Yorkshire village, offering a variety of exciting adventures from its doorstep. Cliffe is a quiet and quaint Yorkshire village that’s home to a local pub, shop and sports ground - perfect for those who can’t resist a spot of leisure. You’ll be just 14.5 miles from the historic city of York where you will find many shops, independent restaurants and cafes as well as historic sites such as the city walls and minster. Explore the Yorkshire coast's beautiful stretches of golden sand beach and rugged shoreline or dine in one of the many local seafood restaurants.

Beneath the simple exterior is a collection of uniquely designed interiors that certainly have the wow factor. Step inside and be greeted by the grand dining area, an open-plan space characterised by striking pitched ceilings, immaculate furnishing and a feeling of grandeur. This is the perfect place for family and friends to gather after a long day of exploring and enjoy a decadent feast together. All you’ll have to do is crack open the champagne and let the festivities flow.

Similarly impressive, the lavish lounge area features exposed brick work and an impossibly soft sofa for you to snuggle up on. A crackling wood burner beckons from the hearth, sending a cascade of warmth throughout the room, providing a wistfully comforting ambience on the chilliest of days. Gaze out of the double-height glass and patio doors, marvelling at the wonderful views across the garden and the countryside beyond. When it grows dark, switch on the Smart TV and watch your favourite films. If you’d like a spot of peace and solitude, there is a charming sunroom with additional seating and a Smart TV just down the hall. This is a tranquil space for sipping a mug of tea and admiring the garden.

The kitchen is found next to the dining area and is fully equipped for preparing special breakfasts and celebratory suppers. This quirky space has a pleasing sense of eccentricity with bold colours and statement cabinetry, but it has all the essentials you need for cooking up a storm. There is a gas hob and double electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, and a dishwasher, but coffee fans will adore the coffee machine for that all important caffeinated or decaffeinated treat. Through the hallway you will find the utility room, perfect for drying the four-pawed pals after a long walk.

At bedtime, you’ll have a variety of bedrooms to choose from, each one crisply-dressed and thoughtfully styled for a unique personal touch. Discover two spacious king-size rooms with patio doors opening out to the garden, and settle the youngest guests in the cheerful room with the full-size single bunk beds. There is also a generous king-size room with an en-suite with a walk-in shower enclosure and shower for an added splash of luxury. Completing the property is a simply superb family bathroom for long soaks and a spot of pampering.

Outside, the luscious lawn space is bordered by mature shrubs and provides a tempting space for the children and pets to play safely. Dish up something delicious and shake up some cocktails in the all-weather dining area, and when the last streaks of russet leave the sky at sundown, dip your toes in your exclusive hot tub and sink your shoulders under the bubbling warmth of the water.

The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York (14.5 miles) is one of the best short break destinations in England and is a favourite amongst even the most seasoned of travellers. This ancient walled city has been the north's spiritual capital for 2,000 years, but that's not to say it is stuck in the past; York's affluent population and its influx of tourist pounds has helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Everywhere in York is easily reachable by foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Middle Ages' town planning means it can take quite some time to get your bearings but finding your way around the labyrinth of warped streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and Bettys tearoom whilst you're there.

If you are looking for outside space in which to relax, you have the choice of a number of parks and gardens, including Dean's Park next to the Minster, the Yorkshire Museum Gardens next to the River Ouse and, slightly further afield, Rowntree Park with its children's playground, tennis courts and bowling green.

And, what's more, it really is a year-round location. Summer days can be spent lounging in one of the gorgeous parks and, in the autumn, York comes alive with shop windows sparkling in the dusky light. Its central location also makes a great base from which to explore the rest of glorious Yorkshire, with the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Yorkshire coastline all within easy reach for beautiful walks and adventurous days out. If walking or cycling is your thing, there are lots of beautiful paths and routes in the area.
