Superb stone cottage with lots of character set in the village of Reeth, it's a fabulous place for day trips into Swaledale and Wensleydale with dramatic scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

This gorgeous stone-built cottage is in an idyllic location in a favoured Dales village. Tucked away off the traditional village green, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside location but have the benefit of charming pubs, shops and a cafe within 500 metres. With ample space for four people, the cottage is bursting with character features and enjoys breathtaking countryside views from many aspects – reminding you of your enviable position within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Step through the handy porch to enter the property, leaving behind your muddy walking boots and coats. Then open the latched door to the stunning lounge, truly the heart of the home. It combines traditional Dales charm, including a wood burner nestled in a stone hearth, with contemporary Scandi-style furniture to create a wonderfully warm atmosphere where your relaxing break can really begin. Curl up in the comfy chairs and pour yourself a glass of wine while choosing something to watch on the streaming services.

The lounge leads through to the fabulous, contemporary kitchen which has everything you need to rustle up a sumptuous meal with local produce picked up in the village – or perhaps tuck into something delicious from the welcome hamper! Sleek units mix with stylish worktops and modern downlights for a high-end feel, but the variety of appliances mean you’ll be able to find your way around as easily as you would at home. When you’ve finished cooking, settle down at the round table to make plans for the next day’s adventures. A separate utility room is handy for freshening up after hours of exploring the National Park.

Climb the stairs to discover the two tranquil bedrooms, both decorated in calming, neutral tones with energising pops of colour. The beautiful master bedroom boasts stunning views over the Dales that you can enjoy while tucked up in the decadent king-size bed. The second bedroom – a double – also enjoys lovely views. You don’t even need to roll out of bed to watch TV, as both bedrooms are well-equipped with their own screens.

Both bedrooms have access to the luxurious shower room, complete with chic units. It’s the perfect place to invigorate yourself for the day ahead or refresh after a busy day of adventure.

The countryside charm continues outside; within a gated area is a delightful patio set behind a cute white picket fence. This is the perfect spot for firing up the BBQ to dine alfresco, having a morning coffee or just admiring the countryside views. While off-road parking is available on the green.

Situated in the picturesque village of Reeth, within the Yorkshire Dales, there is 841 square miles of National Park to explore from your doorstep.

Reeth is within Swaledale, described as “a little country in itself”, due to the rings of hills that surround it. Formerly known for hand-knitting and lead, it is now popular with walkers wishing to explore the gentle slopes of the dale and boasts charming village amenities including tea rooms, a museum and a village store. There’s also an ice cream parlour which is sure to be a hit with kids.

Every Friday, you can sample traditional Yorkshire provender including cheese, jams, honey and fish at the market on the green. If your appetite hasn’t been sated, drive the 4 miles to Low Row to dine at the award-winning gastropub.

Nature lovers will be delighted by this part of the world. For a picturesque waterside walk, head half a mile south from the village to find yourself at the River Swale. Also just half a mile from the property is the Dales Bike Centre, where you can hire equipment and get advice on the best way to explore the wonderful surrounds on two wheels.

The Yorkshire Dales are a veritable walker’s paradise, regardless of your fitness levels. The more adventurous can explore the peaks of Great Shunner Fell (12.5 miles), Lovely Seat (13 miles) and Addlebrough (12 miles). And you can’t leave without a visit to Buttertubs Pass (12 miles), a breathtaking mountain road which connects Swaledale to Wensleydale and offers some of the most stunning views in the area.
