Located just half a mile outside of Haworth, this charming cottage provides the perfect retreat for a romantic break in heart of Bronte Country.

Nestled amongst the glorious countryside of West Yorkshire is this adorable cottage that’s straight out of a storybook with its beamed ceilings and abundance of old-world charm. Sleeping two in complete comfort, it is ideally positioned for discovering Bronte Country in all its glory, whether you are wandering the pretty streets of Haworth (0.5 miles) or setting off across the unspoilt moors in search of what inspired the iconic sisters to pen their timeless classics.

Thoughtfully furnished and styled to reflect the age and character of the property, the cottage invites you to kick off your boots and snuggle down under a soft throw by the wood burner. Tucked within the feature fireplace, the dancing flames flicker away on chilly evenings, creating an atmosphere of cosy contentment for hunkering down and taking your first sip of cocoa. Sympathetically restored beams and glimpses of exposed brickwork blend with the contemporary decor to enhance the ambience, so all you’ll want to do is open a bottle of wine and curl up together to watch TV.

Peek through the wooden doorway and prepare to cook up a storm in the chic galley-style kitchen, putting your culinary skills to the test. There is a bijou table for enjoying your creations, and you’ll find ample worktop space and all the appliances you need. There’s an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge and a freezer, and in terms of laundry requirements, there’s a handy washing machine too. The irresistibly quirky decor will certainly raise a smile when you are sitting down to sample homemade cake.

At bedtime, creep up the stairs and rest your weary limbs, sinking into the bubbliest of baths with a glass of wine in the elegant bathroom. The king-size sleigh bed is dressed in crisp linen for a restful night’s slumber, a treat after a long day roaming the countryside in search of adventure. Wake up to natural light streaming in through the windows and savour coffee in bed before rising to greet the day.

Double doors from the first-floor landing reveal the deceptively large garden, a gently sloping stretch of lawn that’s overlooked by the beautiful rolling countryside. Take a seat on the decked patio and peer over the fence to admire the views and watch the sunset. Dotted with mature shrubbery, it really is a special place to unwind with morning coffee or a leisurely afternoon BBQ. On-street parking is available to the front of the property subject to availability.

A short 0.5-mile journey offers a scenic walk or drive to Haworth where you can choose from an array of eateries, select souvenirs for your nearest and dearest or simply pick up some locally sourced ingredients for a candlelit dinner for two. You could also embrace the sheer romance of this marvellous setting and don your finery for a meal out a deux, rounding off with a glass of something special. However, it is just as much fun to pick up a takeaway and relax in your comfiest pyjamas by the fire.

Haworth reserves a special place in its visitor’s hearts, perhaps it’s the surrounding heather moorland, the array of quaint cafes or the abundance of independent shops that are home to skilled artisans and fine craftsmen. Browse the galleries, pause for afternoon tea and chat to the friendly shopkeepers as you explore, finding out more about what makes this a fairtrade village. The traditional Steam Railway run from Haworth to Keighley, and eagle-eyed film buffs will recognise this as the location for The Railway Children.

However, what really sets Haworth apart is its close connection to the famed Bronte sisters who resided at the Parsonage from 1820. Step back in time and be inspired by their life story, walking the routes they once followed and taking the time to stop and reflect in their favourite writing spots. The ruins at Top Withens is thought to be the inspiration of Wuthering Heights, but you’ll also need to visit Bronte Bridge, Bronte Falls and the legendary Ponden Kirk to really get a feel for what inspired their literacy genius.

A walkers paradise, the Pennines and the Bronte Way are just two of the most popular routes for all abilities, and you’ll also have the Yorkshire Dales (17 miles) if you are keen to reconnect with nature. A natural playground, the stunning Dales scenery is peppered with countless attractive little towns and villages. The historic town of Skipton (12.5 miles) is also close by and offers a host of other attractions including its very own castle. There are lots of options to eat here as well as independent shops making it a great option for a full day out.

Excellent accommodation. Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Lovely welcome pack, much appreciated. Bit of a hike up the hill to Haworth but we knew that. Hebble row is very cosy and the owners have thought of everything you may need, including a lovely welcome pack (our dog enjoyed the treats too!) some beautiful walks directly from the cottage (we did the Railway children walk and Top Withens). We also caught the steam train to Keighley and the bus to Hebden Bridge, so only used the car a couple ofRead more times to visit Bolton Abbey and Skipton. Howarth is beautiful town with lots of places to eat, but it is a steep 15 minute walk there! Hide

I spent a festive fortnight at Hebble Row Cottage, covering Christmas 2022, my 60th birthday, and New Year 2023. The property was ideal for the purpose, being a real home-from-home, and there is an amazing cafe, Millstack, just up the road. I only used my car twice during the fortnight, to go to Sainsbury's in Keighley. Otherwise I enjoyed lots of Read morelocal walks around Oakworth and Haworth, plus a day on the steam train.
