This beautiful traditional Yorkshire cottage is the ideal romantic bolthole for a couple looking to celebrate any occasion, situated within the heart of Pateley Bridge.

Set deep within the Yorkshire Dales countryside and the glorious Nidderdale AONB lies Pateley Bridge, a wonderful little town that’s won awards for High Street of the year and best place to live in the past decade. You’ll find this compact and cosy property for two just off the award-winning high street, tucked away in a sunny little corner with traditional brickwork and pretty planters offering a real sense of country charm.

As the name may suggest, this cottage really is a hidden gem within the ever-popular Yorkshire town. Before you’ve even stepped inside, we’re certain you’ll be taken aback by the incredible location of the property. You can look forward to leaving the car behind throughout your relaxing stay here, embarking on walks and rambles from the town centre or frequenting popular restaurants, pubs or bars on an evening before effortlessly wandering home.

Clearly designed with a playful eye, this contemporary-style cottage is filled with statement features that add a truly unique spin to the accommodation’s décor. For example, the lounge boasts bold animal print accents to feature a leopard print feature wall and wildlife-themed decorative pieces. As well as fun and unique décor, this first-floor lounge is also complete with two cushy sofas and a Smart TV, the perfect spot to sit with a glass of your favourite tipple as evening falls.

With the lounge located on the first floor, you’ll have to head down a single flight of stairs to find the property entrance and the well-equipped kitchen/diner. This bright and sunny room is flooded with daylight and offers a romantic dining table for two, ideal for planning the day over a hearty breakfast or catching up on activities just passed throughout your evening meal. Keen chefs will be pleased with the kitchen’s offering, complete with plenty of countertop space, all of the necessary cooking appliances and that all-important dishwasher for clearing up as you go.

You’ll need to return back up that flight of stairs to find the bedroom. Always kept comfortable and inviting, this generously proportioned room is furnished with a king-size bed and plenty of furniture for storage. The bed has been neatly laid out with fresh linens and soft white towels, and the comfortable mattress promises to accommodate an excellent 8-hours sleep.

This bedroom is served by an adjacent en-suite, complete with a marble-effect shower unit and WC.

You can breathe in that fresh Yorkshire air when sitting out at the front of the property. The accommodation’s incredible location means that a generous allocation of outdoor space is hard to come by, so be sure to soak up the first sunshine of the day or the last of the evening's rays when sitting out here with a fresh coffee or late-night tipple.

Pateley Bridge itself is a charming little market town, very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The main street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a wine shop; everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here dating back to the early 1800s.

Pateley Bridge sits at the heart of the breathtaking Nidderdale landscape, itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and immediately adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

There are plenty of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance including the fabulous Brimham Rocks (4.5 miles) and the famous Three Peaks. Or check out the cathedral town of Ripon which is also well worth a visit and is just 12 miles away, with its regal castle overlooking the town below. The RHS garden at Harlow Carr. (16 miles) is a great place to visit for those that love flowers and plants.

Take a spa day or have a massage at the Turkish Baths in the cosmopolitan town of Harrogate, 14.5 miles. Time a visit with the Great Yorkshire Show – it is a massive platform for farmers and local craft-makers to showcase their way of life and their produce on a grand scale. Harrogate is best known for its convention centres and it’s an events hub too, so it’s worth seeing what is on their programme.

Many visitors to the local area will make a beeline for Skipton, a magnificent market town that’s located just 16 miles from Pateley Bridge. This lovely spot boasts a historic castle, a charming high street that’s littered with independent boutiques and a large selection of pubs and eateries to fill your time. From here, keen train spotters will love a trip to the heritage train station at Embsay (14.5 miles). Here you’ll be able to board a fantastic steam train and take a trip to the neighbouring village of Bolton Abbey (13.5 miles), another unrivalled beauty spot with magnificent abbey ruins and lovely stepping stones over the River Wharf.

Hidden Gem is small but perfectly formed. - two comfortable sofas to stretch out on, a king size bed, and a well equipped kitchen. The cottage is cosy and there is plenty of hot water. Everything was immaculate and the owner has clearly given a lot of thought to little details that make the difference.
