A stylish little hideaway set within a secluded location in the North York Moors offering the perfect home from home for couples looking to enjoy a romantic escape to the stunning countryside.

Get ready to fall in love with this holiday escape, a gorgeous one-bedroom cottage tucked away in a pretty village in the North York Moors National Park. Perfect for couples looking for a romantic escape, this immaculate little hideaway offers stylish and comfortable accommodation with several dining pubs on your doorstep. Step inside to discover a surprisingly spacious open-plan area home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area, and exposed beams overhead lend lots of character.

In the lounge you have comfy seating where you can snuggle up by the fire. Light up the wood burner, curl up under the soft throws and enjoy an evening catching up over a glass or two. For your evening entertainment you'll find a TV with Freeview as well as a DVD player, radio and MP3 USB charging port. Wi-Fi is included too if you need to catch up online.

Make your way through to the rear of the cottage where you'll find an elegant and stylish handmade kitchen. The flooring changes to sophisticated Yorkshire stone in here and its heated underfoot. You'll find all the usual mod cons including a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer, great if you need to wash some muddy walking gear. There's also a coffee machine to make that perfect cup of morning coffee. The bijou glass dining table and chairs share this space. It's a lovely spot for breakfast and lunch, take your time over the morning papers with some croissants and Yorkshire tea.

Let's go upstairs to discover the beautiful bedroom which sits at the front of the cottage. At the heart of the room is a stunning king-size bed. Dressed in crisp cotton with a lime green throw, waking up in this room is just heavenly. You'll also find a set of drawers and built in wardrobes, so lots of storage options. There's another TV in here too if you fancy some morning telly in your PJs, and why not, you're on holiday!

Next door is the fabulous bathroom with its walk-in shower and monsoon shower head. With its wet room feel, underfloor heating and top-quality fixtures it feels like a five-star hotel in here. Complimentary toiletries are provided for that extra little luxury.

There is much to enjoy outside this pretty cottage too. To the rear through patio doors from the kitchen you'll find a sweet flagged courtyard with outdoor furniture. It's a gorgeous spot for lunch alfresco or perhaps that afternoon G&T in the warmer months.

We think this beautiful cottage is the perfect couples escape to the country, with all the convenience of village amenities thrown in too.

  • 1 king-size bedroom
  • 1 wet room with walk-in monsoon shower
  • Kitchen: oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and coffee machine

This quaint property is set in the heart of Great Broughton, a pretty village on the cusp of the North York Moors National Park. This lovely village offers dining pubs within a stone's throw from the cottage and there's also village stores to pick up your essentials.

Just 2.5 miles away is the beautiful market town of Stokesley. Hosting a market every Friday on its handsome cobbled square, this charming Georgian town offers a host of independent shops, cafes and restaurants to try. The neighbouring village of Great Ayton is 5 miles away and also worth a visit. It’s an idyllic Yorkshire village set beside a meandering river and once the boyhood home of Captain James Cook.

Heading in the other direction take you into the North York Moors. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns.

There are some stunning walks right from your doorstep including the famous Cleveland Way, which you can join at Clay Bank, 3 miles. The beautiful market town of Helmsley is 18 miles and is a must on any visit to this area.

The cottage was beautiful and will looked after and clean. In a good spot to look around the Yorkshire Moors. My only disappointment was the dog howling next door and one of the neibours playing their TV quite loud after 10 when we was in bed.

Amazing shower, wonderful towels, superb toiletries, lovely bedroom and well equipped and furnished kitchen. Very convenient for two excellent pub restaurants. Welcome pack and lemon cake were brilliant and great quality. On road parking was tricky at times and the road noise was loud.

The cottage was very stylish and comfortable. We liked the relaxing sitting room and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was super and the kitchen well equipped. The owner had left a great welcome basket plus other nice touches such as flowers, Molten Brown toiletries and a delicious home madeRead more cake. The only suggestion I would make is the bathroom could do with a hook to hang clothes on and a shelf for toiletries. The reason we wouldn't stay again is we have been to The North York moors many times now and will be looking for a cottage in another area also unfortunately the road was very busy early in the morning with large waggons going past, obviously there is nothing that can be done about that.

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Alison, Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. I am delighted you found the cottage comfortable and stylish and that you liked the sitting room. I do agree, the kitchen at Ivy Cottage has everything in the kitchen that a guest would need and the welcome hamper is a great touch. The owner has now put up some hooks on the back of the bathroom door for guests to use. I do hope we can book you into another Gorgeous Cottage, in a different area of Yorkshire, in the not so distant future. Take careLouise Hide
