Enjoying an enviable situation sat comfortably at the edge of Gillamoor, an attractive North York Moors village, this is a superb choice for a cosy break away from it all. Close to the pretty town of Kirkbymoorside (2.5 miles) and then on to vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns like Pickering (10 miles) and Helmsley (8 miles); both of which have an abundance of good restaurants, tea-rooms and independent shops.

Beyond the village lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gentle rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge affords some of the best views in the country in our opinion, and is just a few minutes' drive from the cottage. And if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage in the lovely village of Gilamoor. The cottage was well set up with all amenities and Gill and Phil were fantastic. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable and we couldn't recommend the cottage and hosts enough. A beautiful holiday stay.

Well equipped cottage, perfect for the two of us. The location was excellent, in the countryside just a short walk to the local pub The Royal Oak which serves lovely food. The property is l shaped with views down to the fields and over looking a small terrace. Very private. Would definitely recommend

Great location, yet apart from a great pub Gillamore is very quiet. The walk to Hutton-le-Hole was mainly by road as the footpaths are very boggy and the town was closed apart from the pub. Beautiful little village though and it was early January.
