Have fun together at this holiday cottage near Primrose Valley, on the North Yorkshire coast, which enjoys access to a whole host of leisure activities, as well as the beautiful coast and countryside. Sleeping four guests, and also welcoming dogs, the inviting two-bedroom property is set within grounds with a shared swimming pool, gym and spa, as well as boules and tennis courts, a five-a-side football pitch, a playground and pizza restaurant.

Situated just 0.5 miles from the sandy Bay Beach, the cottage is also 2 miles south of Filey, a popular seaside town with an assortment of restaurants, cafes and amusements. Also strike out on coastal and cliff-top walks or venture into Scarborough, 10 miles away, to shop, dine out and see the 12th-century castle from your comfortable base.

Enter the airy cottage via the front door and large hallway, where you can hang jackets and leave sandy flip-flops. Make your way through to the light-filled, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner to relax after your busy days out. Open the doors up on to the patio on warm days then sit back and unwind in front of a film on TV or a DVD.

The kitchen is well equipped and ideal for preparing a picnic for a day at the beach or for creating a hearty meal to enjoy at the table here together. Also downstairs is a handy WC. The family bathroom is up on the first floor of the cottage, together with a double bedroom and a twin where you can enjoy a superb night’s sleep.

Relax out on the patio in the Yorkshire sunshine with your morning coffee and have a glass of chilled wine out here too as the sun goes down. Beyond the patio are a boules court area and extensive lawned area that are shared with fellow guests. Make the most of all the exceptional leisure facilities here whenever you choose to stay close to home.

Enjoy trips into Scarborough, 10 miles from the cottage, to wander the shopping streets, while away days on the golden sand and enjoy historic sights. Make your way through the town to see the castle, for example, or pop into St Mary’s churchyard to visit Anne Bronte’s grave. Enjoy a stroll around South Cliff, taking in the famous spa and beautiful Italian Gardens.

Catch the cliff lift down to the beach to swim or walk around to the peaceful North Bay; visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and oriental influences. The old railway line, which ran from Scarborough to Whitby, is now a stunning cycle and walking route and is perfect if you feel like a coastal walk taking in some spectacular scenery.

You are also well placed to take in the best of the North York Moors from here. Somewhat smaller than the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors still cover an area of almost 600 square miles, and, like the Dales, you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly. But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the moors. In place of harsh limestone and dramatic peaks, you’ll find gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. There is a sense of wilderness, particularly on top of the high central moorlands, but it’s cast in comforting soft focus.

Head out from the property on long walks along the scenic North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Spend time walking through the beautiful nearby Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, with its panoramic views. Much like its Cornish counterpart, the North Yorkshire coast is a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, this is genuine bucket-and-spade territory. The coast’s villages and towns also combine the traditional with the contemporary effortlessly, with trinket shops and tea rooms sitting alongside upmarket champagne and oyster bars.

The cottage is very nice, clean, light spacious. But not suitable if you have any disabilities. Like getting in and out of the bath, no hook off shower. Sofas were low, and beds were very low, not good if you have difficulty getting up from things. Also there were a lot of flies, might have been the weather.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped with everything you need to cook a proper meal. Nicely decorated. Great location for resorts that have things to entertain children and the bay was beautiful.

Would definitely stay again if visiting the area and would highly recommend this property . The free pass for the indoor pool and gym is an added bonus. Great base for visiting Filey, Flamborough Head, Scarborough, Whitby, Goathland, Pickering. Sewerby Hall & Gardens and Zoo is also on your doorstep and worth a trip.
