This attractive house in the peaceful village of Sinderby is ideal for families who want to explore everything the stunning Yorkshire countryside has to offer. Sitting halfway between the North York Moors and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which borders the Yorkshire Dales, guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to getting out and discovering the area's variety of landscapes and natural beauty. Whether you're into walking, cycling, climbing or other outdoor pursuits, there is sure to be something for you in the surrounding area. Despite its rural location, there is a pub within 1 mile of the property and a shop within 3 miles. The larger market town of Thirsk is 7 miles away with a range of shops, eateries and other amenities. After a busy day exploring, you can return home for some stargazing from the comfort of your private hot tub.

One of four barn conversions on a working organic farm, this semi-detached home has been stylishly renovated to a very high standard. High vaulted ceilings add a sense of light and space, whilst contemporary fixtures and fittings create a home that is luxurious and comfortable.

On the ground floor, there is a spacious kitchen/diner which is well-equipped and has plenty of seating for everyone. The stone floors and wooden tones work well with the kitchen to create a modern country-cottage feel. You may even be lucky enough to find a homemade cake waiting for you as a welcome gift from the thoughtful owners. For those looking to relax, rather than cook, the cosy lounge is next door with a wood burner adding warmth and comfort – it's the perfect place to curl up of an evening.

Upstairs, the master bedroom is light and airy thanks to the skylights and double doors which open up on to a Juliet balcony. As well as a king-size bed, this impressive room has a sofa, dressing table and Smart TV, which allows guests a quiet space to retire to if needed. The other bedroom also has a king-size bed, double doors on to a Juliet balcony and a lovely en-suite. One of the bedrooms can be made up as a twin on request.

Outside, there is a private courtyard garden with a BBQ and furniture so that you can make the most of warmer weather with a spot of al fresco dining. Evenings can be whiled away with a glass or two of bubbly amongst the bubbles of the hot tub. Beyond the garden, guests are welcome to take the designated walking route around the owner's farm, where you'll see the animals and may even get to collect fresh eggs from the hens. There is off-road parking for one car and additional roadside parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The attractive town of Bedale (8.5 miles) is a great place to have a coffee and then make your way around the town's antique shops and independent boutiques. Foodies will be delighted by the range of local produce, including beers and cheeses, on offer.

The vibrant cathedral city of Ripon (9 miles) boasts a Thursday market, numerous coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and a nice collection of independent shops to explore. The cathedral is smaller than its close neighbour, York Minster, but is still an awe-inspiring sight. In addition, every night for at least 450 years the Ripon Hornblower has sounded the curfew at 9pm from all four sides of the obelisk in the market place, come rain or shine, followed by a 15-minute history of the ceremony and the city – an experience not to be missed! If you are partial to a flutter, Ripon Race Ground has around 15 meets from April to early September. Known as 'Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse' it has a distinct atmosphere harking back to a bygone era – traditional tearooms and bandstands sit alongside the champagne bar.

This area of Yorkshire has enough historical sites to keep you busy for a week with Ripley Castle (16.5 miles), Newby Hall (12 miles) and Norton Conyers (5.5 miles). Visit lovely Fountains Abbey and the gorgeous Studley Royal Water Garden, 12.5 miles away – this World Heritage Site is deservedly one of the National Trust's most visited locations. As well as the spectacular ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, the grounds are home to an Elizabethan Mansion, a medieval deer park and some of the most romantic vistas in the country.

Harrogate (20 miles) is an absolute must-visit if you're staying here. Encircled by its famous Stray, or 200 acres, of horseshoe-shaped grassland, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. And as you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, cinemas, parks and gardens you could ever wish for.

The vibrant little village of Osmotherley (18 miles) on the western side of the North York Moors is well-known as a starting point for walkers and cyclists. This gorgeous little place is real picture-postcard stuff. It also offers excellent facilities including a cafe, village stores and a fish and chip shop. If you're a bit of a foodie, this part of Yorkshire is packed with fantastic gastropubs, restaurants and delis.

The cottage was ideally located for visiting both the Dales and the Moors. The facilities were of a high standard and the cottage was an excellent size for two couples sharing. The welcome pack was very much appreciated and the owners were extremely knowledgeable of the local area and places to visit. Will definitely return.
