This stunning townhouse, in the heart of the bustling, historic market town of Beverley, is in an ideal location for friends or families to explore this corner of East Riding in Yorkshire. Situated directly opposite the Minster in the old part of town, this Grade II-listed Georgian house occupies a unique position allowing guests easy access to the many shops, pubs and restaurants of Beverley.

Refurbished to a high standard, many original features are still intact and add character to the property, but the classic furniture, pale palette and contemporary touches give it an elegant sophistication. As you enter through the grand front door, you will find yourself in the breathtaking hallway with its high ceilings, sweeping staircase and eye-catching tiled floor. From here, you can enter the first of two lounge areas where Georgian panelling, sash windows and views of the Minster add a touch of grandeur, whilst the sofa gives you somewhere to sink into at the end of a busy day. B

ack through the hallway is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which is light, bright and airy with clean lines helping to add to the feeling of space. The coal-effect electric fire brings warmth on colder evenings, the dining area has plenty of seating for everyone and the kitchen is well-equipped and spacious allowing everyone to help cook meals and treats.

Upstairs, on the first floor, you will find the master king-size bedroom; the crisp contemporary decor contrasts beautifully with the Minster which is visible from the delightful window seat. This bedroom has a large en-suite shower room. Also on the first floor is a twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king on request) overlooking the courtyard garden and a traditional-style family bathroom with a hand-held shower over the freestanding bath. The final bedroom, a zip-and-link super king-size (which can also be made up as a twin on request), is on the second floor with its en-suite WC.

From the kitchen, Georgian patio doors open up to let fresh air and light flood in and allow you to spill out into the delightful courtyard with yet more views of the Minster over the high walls. This relatively minimal space has dining furniture for a spot of al fresco dining, so that everyone can spend quality time together.

The beautiful market town of Beverley is one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets, with its stunning 13th-century Beverley Minster often regarded as one of Europe’s finest Gothic churches. Take a look at the town’s medieval architecture before indulging in a spot of shopping around its lively cobbled squares. Finish off with a drink in one of the traditional Yorkshire pubs where time has stood still for decades. It also has lovely park areas such as Westwood where you can wander a little way out of the town and enjoy some fresh air.

For the kids, there is an indoor play area, Inflata Nation, within 200 metres of the property, or Let Loose Adventure Park, which offers a range of outdoor activities for all ages, is 3 miles away in nearby Woodmansey. For a rainy day, why not head to aquarium The Deep in Hull (10 miles)? Historic port town Hull (known as Kingston-upon-Hull) is also worth a visit with a range of shops, eateries, museums and other amenities to discover.

And beyond the town, get to know the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds, a range of low rolling hills rising from the River Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head. The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling.

The Wolds are also home to many historical homes and religious sites as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens. The southern tip of the North York Moors and the beautiful city of York are both within around 30 miles, so worth the drive for a great day out.
