Luxurious holiday home perfect for families, lying in the picturesque village of Hutton-Le-Hole in the North York Moors with stunning countryside walks and wonderful attractions within easy reach.

Welcome to an immaculate luxury holiday home set in Hutton-Le-Hole - one of Yorkshire's prettiest villages. Spacious contemporary interiors, a large enclosed south-facing garden and the delights of this gorgeous village on your doorstep - what more could you ask for?

Dating back to the 16th century when the building was originally a cruck barn used by linen workers, this stunning property now has a gentile Edwardian appeal. It has been transformed into a generous and comfortable holiday home. From the entrance hall with its original chequered floor tiles to the Farrow & Ball colour pallet and fabulous open-plan kitchen/dining room, this is the perfect place for families and groups of friends to base themselves on a holiday to Yorkshire.

Entering the property from the rear, step into the large kitchen. Lots of room to entertain and cook, while friends and family can perch themselves at the breakfast bar with a glass of bubbly. The kitchen comes with everything you need to whip up a feast including a dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also available in a separate laundry cupboard by the back door which sits next to a handy downstairs cloakroom. Beside the entrance hall, you'll also find a large inner hall with lots of storage; perfect for hanging coats. A muddy boot store is situated by the back door.

Rustle up a hearty family meal and settle down to dine in the charming formal dining room. With double aspect windows, this light-filled space is a pleasure to eat in. Carefully chosen reclaimed and contemporary furniture combines with original artwork on the walls to give a sense of elegance and class in this room.

Make your way through the grand entrance hall and into the generous sitting room, which continues that stylish ambience. Take your pick from one of two large comfy sofas, just the place to stretch out with a good book. A living flame gas stove keeps everything nice and toasty and for your digital entertainment, you'll find a Smart TV with DVD.

All three bedrooms are set upstairs, the first of which is the sumptuous master bedroom. With front aspect views down to the village green, this bright and welcoming room boasts a king-size iron bed and an en-suite shower room with WC. The second bedroom also enjoys a king-size bed and has a lovely country chic style. The final bedroom is a darling single room, again with views of the village. Take some time to admire the original Edwardian doors up here which lend further period charm to the property.

The family bathroom is also upstairs and sits at the end of the landing. If you enjoy a good soak at the end of a day's walking, you'll be delighted to find a bath in here with a shower overhead. We love the views from the bathroom window out over the garden and hills beyond.

There is much to adore outside this wonderful period home. In addition to a sheltered landscaped gravel patio area, you'll discover a large lawned area of garden, perfect for children to run around in. And as its south facing, you can throw out a picnic blanket here and enjoy the sun all day.

Please note this property requires payment of a £200 security deposit.

Please note there is a refundable £200 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Offering a truly idyllic location, the cottage is set within the stunning conservation village of Hutton-Le-Hole in the North York Moors National Park. Famous for being one of Yorkshire's prettiest and most popular villages, Hutton-le-Hole looks like it's been lifted straight from the cover of a chocolate box.

This beautiful moorland village is one of the finest examples of its kind in the area. Cut in two by the clear moorland waters of Hutton Beck, attractive period cottages sit peacefully on either side connected by a series of charming bridges. The village boasts a fantastic gastropub, several cafes, a gift shop and the renowned Ryedale Folk Museum, so it's the perfect location for a family-friendly holiday.

Surrounded by walks on every side, we recommend the wonderful circular route to nearby Lastingham, stopping at a country pub for lunch on the way. This picture-postcard village is of considerable religious significance and hides a wonderfully preserved 11th century crypt deep in the bowels of its church.

Beyond the village, strikeout to discover the North York Moors, a landscape of gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you're a keen walker or cyclist, you'll be in heaven here as it offers some of the most picturesque walking trails and cycling routes across the whole of the UK. The view from on top of Blakey Ridge, under 5 miles from the cottage, is in our opinion, the finest across the whole of Yorkshire.

Nearby you'll find the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey (4 miles). It features a beautiful village green and several cafes and pubs. The vibrant market town of Helmsley (9.5 miles) is also worth a visit with its excellent spa, independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. And with Castle Howard (15.5 miles), York and the Yorkshire Coast all within easy reach, you have lots of choice for day trips too.

We chose Mount Pleasant as our Summer holiday cottage for our family of 6 (4 Adults, a 6 year old and 18 month old.) There is a field to the rear of the garden with horses so that was an added bonus for the children to see them every day. The owners have provided some great toys and traditional games to keep the little ones entertained. You can sit at the kitchen breakfast bar or cook dinner whilst the children play in the adjoining open plan dining room. The decor, maintenance and cleanliness of the cottage was of a very high standard for a holiday cottage and it provided everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay! Hutton le Hole is a lovely picturesque village and we ventured to nearby Pickering where we found a small park and roamed the shops. A very short drive away we visited Helmsley which is another fantastic market town for small boutique shops and great places to eat throughout the day. We loved learning about the history of the cottage too and the owner Michael couldnt have done more for us, my husband accidentally left his wallet in the house and he went out of his way to ensure it was securely returned to us the following day. I would go as far as saying that overall this cottage ticked every box for us from parking to outside space, cleanliness and facilities it definitely is a wonderful place to stay and i would highly recommend it. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay - the house, garden and village are just beautiful and so peaceful. Disappointing - we were the second guests ever to stay in the cottage, and although there were a few niggles like not enough towels, and the tumble dryer not working, we had a nice stay and sent the owner a lovely email on the day we left saying thank you. Despite us leaving the cottage in a cleanRead more and tidy condition, the owner didn't get in touch for over a week, and did not respond to our requests to return our deposit . He then sent us an email complaining about ridiculously small things like we had left the kitchen bin unemptied (it was less than a quarter full), and it was only after more than 12 days that he finally returned our deposit (as clearly he didn't have a leg to stand on). The hassle we experienced spoilt what would have been a lovely stay.

Response from Gorgeous Cottages:

Hi Rebecca, thanks for taking the time to leave your review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay at Mount Pleasant, I see on the email sent on your departure you thought it one of the nicest cottages you've stayed in. Unfortunately on your departure the owner had to highlight several issues with how the property was left including a wet bed / mattress and scorch marks on the kitchen surfaces. The sink full of dirty dishes and full bins would not have been mentioned on their own, as we agree this is quite minor. Despite incurring costs resolving the above issues, the owner did return your deposit in full, which I hope you feel was fair. Kind regards, Christina Hide
