Sleeping four guests, this stylish dog-friendly holiday property lies at the gateway to the elegant spa town of Harrogate (2 miles) in North Yorkshire. It’s perfectly placed for families, friends, or business visitors who enjoy the best of town and country. Take morning strolls along cherry blossom avenues or go fly a kite on The Stray (1.5 miles), a popular 18th-century recreational parkland above Harrogate. Admire floral displays and ornamental features in the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens (2 miles) or themed display gardens at the nearby RHS Harlow Carr (5.5 miles). There’s also the annual Harrogate Flower Show in May at the Great Yorkshire Showground (3.5 miles). And spend a day in the town centre browsing independent shops, galleries and museums before retreating to the peace and comfort of your holiday hideaway. For traditional ceremonies, see the town crier opening the weekly market in Knaresborough (4.5 miles), or a hornblower who has been setting the watch for the past 450 years in the cathedral city of Ripon (11 miles).

Step inside the handsome main building and take the shared stairs up to the first floor where you’ll find your private holiday apartment, beautifully furnished in sleek contemporary style with calming hues of grey and blue. Hang coats in the porch and wander through to the heart of the home, the welcoming open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. Mealtimes are a pleasure with everything you need to create a delicious brunch or supper; including an electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and convenient dishwasher so nobody needs to do the washing up. After a day out exploring North Yorkshire, rest on the cosy sofa bed (available for two extra adults by request) and enjoy popcorn and film nights with the Smart TV and DVD player. From the hall, there’s a stylish and spacious bathroom. When night falls, snuggle up in your choice of two boutique-style bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and the second with a Smart TV. Both rooms feature king-size (zip-and-link) beds, which can be adapted to twin beds on request. Harrogate is considered one of the best places to live in the UK, with The Duchy suburb topping the list of favoured postcodes. It’s easy to see what draws buyers and visitors here time and again, between its old-world charm, great open spaces, and contemporary cafe culture. If you love fine art and antiques, you’ve come to the right place; venture towards the Montpellier Quarter and you’ll be mesmerised by the array of galleries and opulent treasures in antique dens. If you prefer a fast-paced shopping spree, the high fashion outlets and designer clothing boutiques may be the answer; there’s also the temptation of home interiors shops with inspirational room displays. Stop for a quick bite in a cafe or settle in for a full afternoon tea at the famous Bettys Tearoom. Learn about Harrogate’s spa history with a guided tour at The Pump Room Museum. Enjoy stage performance at Harrogate Theatre and the Royal Hall; arrive early to spend time admiring the resplendent interiors. Or, for the ultimate indulgent treat, refresh and rejuvenate at the Victorian Turkish Baths, where no expense is spared, from the Italian terraced floors and colourful glazed walls to the painted Arabesque ceilings; just what you need for the feeling of a true holiday escape.

Your holiday home is in reach of the Yorkshire Dales; don your boots and enjoy a lofty hike over rolling hills with miles of breathtaking scenery. One of the most popular regions is Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (10 miles). Highlights include the spa town of Ilkley (17.5 miles) which hosts an annual literary festival, and the romantic ruins of Bolton Abbey (17.5 miles) by the River Wharfe. Or, take a trip to the cathedral city of York (22 miles) and wander along medieval streets towards the dulcet tones of choristers at York Minster. Discover Nordic heritage at the Jorvik Viking Centre and satisfy chocolate cravings on a trip to the York’s Chocolate Story experience. Discover a Norman castle built over a gorge in Knaresborough (4.5 miles), and a medieval market town packed with independent shops and surrounded by walking trails and curious rock formations at the family-friendly Mother Shipton’s Cave attraction (4 miles). And don’t miss the chance to hedge your bets on a fun family day out at the race grounds in Wetherby (11 miles), Ripon (11.5 miles), and York (22.5 miles).

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed. Then there's the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, known to have inspired David Hockney. And with a packed calendar of events and festivals each year, including the Malton Food Festival, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Great Yorkshire Show, there's always something exciting to enjoy.

Our holiday cottages in Yorkshire are handpicked to ensure a luxurious and uniquely memorable experience. From dog-friendly cottages in the country to large family houses by the sea and romantic retreats in the city, we have a holiday in Yorkshire to suit everyone.
