Lovingly finished family cottage located in the charming village of Reeth tucked behind the pretty village green. Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales in every direction.

Tucked away behind the village green in the stunning Yorkshire Dales village of Reeth, this cosy cottage has chocolate-box exteriors, a vintage-style interior and a pretty cottage-style garden with views out over Swaledale. There isn't much we don't love about this romantic Yorkshire Dales cottage.

The property is situated up a back lane which is lined with charming Yorkshire cottages. When you spot the cottage at the top of the lane, you immediately sense that it's well cared for, the immaculate exterior has a lovely holiday feel to it, with the pretty painted doors and the bench to sit and catch the morning sun on.

Inside you'll find a handy utility area with a washing machine and dryer. This leads to the garden and also the generously sized kitchen and dining area. We love the old antique pine table and the little vintage touches here and there. Pass the downstairs cloakroom/WC and you'll find the welcoming sitting room complete with a cosy open fire. Just like the kitchen, this bright and spacious room has a warm and comfortable feel to it. Perfect for flopping down with a good book while the fire crackles away at your feet. A Smart TV is available for your entertainment.

Upstairs are two lovely bedrooms. A delightful twin room which looks out onto the flower-filled garden, and to the front, a stunning master bedroom looking out towards the River Swale and the beautiful Dales countryside. The master bedroom features an iron bed and an antique pine dresser/wardrobe. The overall effect is just heavenly. The family bathroom is up also upstairs with a bath to relax into each evening and also a shower over the bath for a quick morning freshener.

Back downstairs and through to the garden. Set under the shade of a mature tree, the elevated lawn boasts magnificent views of the cottage and Swaledale beyond. When the sun is shining it's a lovely spot for your morning cuppa or afternoon tipple. There is also a table and chairs provided on the patio for lunch and dinner alfresco.

  • 2 bedrooms: 1 king-size bedroom and 1 twin bedroom
  • 1 house bathroom with bath and shower overhead and 1 ground floor WC
  • Hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer
  • Outside seating area and garden
  • Traditional open fire
  • Off-road parking for 1 car
  • LCD TV
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Regret no pets
  • Pub and shops within half a mile
  • BBQ provided

The cottage has an idyllic location, tucked away behind the village green in Reeth. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Yorkshire Dales countryside, and experience a true flavour of village life all at the same time. Reeth itself is incredibly pretty - old Yorkshire stone houses gather around a large village green, with the stunning scenery of Swaledale as the backdrop. The village has several little independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There's also an ice cream parlour which your children will just love.

Every Friday you can wander up to the market on the green and bag yourself some locally produced fresh Yorkshire cheese, jams, honey and fish amongst other things. And if you head down in the opposite direction from the cottage, you'll reach the river Swale in minutes. Enjoy a riverside walk or paddle about in the water to your heart's content. The scenery all around this luxury Yorkshire Dales holiday cottage is captivating, with ancient dry-stone barns peppering the dramatic hills and valleys. Just 4 miles on from Reeth is the village of Low Row which is lucky enough to have an award-winning gastropub.

It's a true walker's paradise here and there are some beautiful long or short walks literally from your doorstep. If cycling is more your thing you can hire bikes in the village. This area of the Dales is also renowned for its spectacular wildflower meadows in the spring and with no street light pollution for miles around, the stars at night are dazzling. We also recommend a drive across Buttertubs Pass; this jaw-dropping mountainous road connects Swaledale to its neighbour Wensleydale, and it features some of the most dramatic scenery in the Yorkshire Dales.
