Perfect for special celebrations, this Yorkshire townhouse has been designed to entertain, with spacious reception rooms, contemporary appliances and fantastic al fresco dining facilities.

This spacious and contemporary holiday cottage is located just off the market square in Masham, a picture-postcard Yorkshire Dales town. With five generous bedrooms and large open-plan living spaces, it's the perfect house for family and friends getting together for a holiday in Yorkshire.

The accommodation is set over three floors. Downstairs is dominated by a very pleasant large lounge and dining area featuring an open fire and underfloor heating throughout. It's bright and comfortable in here, with double aspect windows affording views to the front and rear gardens. This leads on to a spacious and stylish kitchen which has sliding doors out to the patio and garden beyond. You'll find everything you need to whip up a feast in here and a kitchen island with bar stools, the perfect spot for a pre-dinner glass of bubbly. There is also a utility and WC down here.

The first floor houses three double bedrooms; the master bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite with double shower, the second double also has a king-size bed and the third has a double. In addition, there is a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Up to the top floor and a further two bedrooms await, one of which is a double with a king-size bed, with the fifth bedroom accommodating three single beds. There is another bathroom up here with a shower.

Outside the house, you can escape to a peaceful long garden featuring a BBQ and pizza oven if you fancy a spot of al fresco cooking. The large lawn is ideal for children to dash up and down whilst you enjoy a quiet drink from the patio. The property is set within a peaceful village in the Dales and is surrounded by neighbouring properties. As such, use of the garden is prohibited after 10 pm every evening, and it is appreciated if guests respect the neighbours by keeping any noise to a reasonable level at all times.

Please note, the property requires payment of a £250 security deposit.

Please note there is a refundable £250 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The cottage has a fantastic location, within easy walking distance of the town square. Masham is a handsome Yorkshire market town where elegant Georgian townhouses gather around a market square. With its picture-postcard good looks, dainty tea-rooms and country pubs, you could happily spend your entire holiday here. Masham also boasts two breweries (Black Sheep and Theakstons), a chocolate shop that counts Daniel Craig as a fan and a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.

Just beyond Masham, you have the exquisite joy of the Yorkshire Dales. Part of the enduring appeal here is the surprisingly varied landscape; you'll find lush green valleys, meandering meadows, dramatic moorlands, magnificent mountains, rocky crags and exquisite wilderness – all peppered with charming villages and cosy inns welcoming you back to civilisation. Nidderdale (10.5 miles), known as the civilised corner of the Dales, provides the perfect setting for a relaxed countryside jaunt. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the makeup of broad green meadows and gently rolling hills are a serene introduction to the wilder, more remote Dales to the north. Nidderdale is also home to Fountains Abbey, a World Heritage Site just outside Ripon.

Close by is the equally beautiful Wensleydale (27 miles). Helped no end by the success of the Wallace and Gromit films and Wallace's overt obsession with the region's cheese, Wensleydale is perhaps the best known of all the Dales and its name is synonymous with Yorkshire and the north. Picking up where Nidderdale leaves off, the scene is one of lush valleys, mellow pastures and pretty villages, crisscrossed with acres of dry-stone walls along its 40-mile length.

Heading north, you'll find the most remote and dramatic of all the Dales, Swaledale (27.5 miles) and the northern region has a rugged and sometimes bleak allure. Famed for its hardy breed of sheep and spectacular wildflower meadows, these are the least commercially developed of all the valleys, so if you want to get away from it all, this is the place. A land of mountains, fast-flowing rivers and folklore legend; the spirit of the Vikings who settled here over 1,000 years ago is kept alive with evocatively named valleys like Rogan's Seat and Blea Barf. Rising steeply on narrow roads from the town of Reeth, Arkengarthdale's secluded hills and valleys reach to the isolated, most northerly points. This is an ancient and historic land, scattered with ruined monastic buildings, ancient churches and solitary villages.

Orchard House is a wonderful, modern and well equipped home. Large living and dining areas and every possible appliance for an amazing holiday in a super-friendly and beautiful town. The house is tucked away, quiet and private, but still in the heart of town. We would love to return.

A lovely stay at Orchard House. The open plan living area worked well for our combination of adults and children and the outdoor space was brilliant (as was the fruit!). The sleeping accommodation was again flexible enough to cope with adults and 6 children under five!Michelle and Columb were helpful, both before our stay and on arrival/ departure.Read more Masham is a lovely Yorkshire village and the house is ideally positioned for quick walks (with reluctant children) to the bakery and park. The cottage was in an excellent position and we had a lovely week. We would have liked to have had some hanging and drawer space in the bedroom with three beds. There is plenty of room for this. The rest of the House was well equipped and the garden was a great space.
