Come and stay with friends and family in this stunning stone-built detached home, ideal for celebrations. Tucked away inside a walled garden in the Georgian town of Richmond.

This attractive stone house is perfect for large families or groups of friends looking for somewhere close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, guests can immerse themselves in the natural beauty and tranquillity of the area. It is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists alike with a range of routes and trails nearby to suit all abilities. Whether you want waterfalls, rivers, woodland or rolling green hills, this area has it all. Richmond itself is steeped in history for all those budding historians out there with plenty of historical buildings and sites of interest to discover in the town and local area. After a busy day exploring, you will have no difficulty in finding somewhere to enjoy a cup of Yorkshire tea or a pint of ale, as Richmond has plenty of tearooms, pubs and cafes to choose from.

 

 

Light, bright and contemporary, this beautiful detached house has been sympathetically restored to create a spacious home for the modern guest. A neutral palette throughout allows classic-style furniture to take centre stage, whilst patterned wallpapers and murals add a touch of sophistication and interest.

 

 

With its reverse-level layout, you enter on the ground floor, but head upstairs to the main living area on the first floor. Here, there is a cosy lounge with two sofas to curl up on of an evening in front of the Smart TV. There is also a games room on this level with a pool table, sofa and TV, offering a separate space for teenagers to escape to and chill out. The bright and airy kitchen/diner is also on this floor. It’s a wonderful room in which original features sit harmoniously alongside cool, contemporary design with all the mod-cons you’ll need to cook up a feast. A handy window seat is a great place to sit and chat to whoever’s cooking in the kitchen and the dining table sits eight guests comfortably.

 

 

Downstairs, there are two bedrooms: a king-size and a twin room. Both are beautifully decorated to create welcoming and restful spaces so that you can get a good night’s sleep. Completing this floor is the immaculate and stylish main bathroom with a separate bath and shower.

 

 

The final two bedrooms are on the second floor. Here you’ll find a double room and another king-size room, which again, are beautifully presented. There is also a separate WC on this floor.

 

 

Located within a stunning Georgian walled garden, the outdoor space for this property is varied and spacious. Accessed from the first floor, there are a number of spaces to choose from over a few levels, so you can choose whether you want to sit in the sun, the shade or somewhere where you can admire the views. Alternatively, you may well want to enjoy a spot of dining on the patio, weather permitting. There is off-road parking for up to four cars.

The house enjoys an idyllic town-meets-country location, within a few hundred metres of the heart of Richmond. Explore this vibrant market town. Soak in some local history at the Richmondshire Museum or head straight for Richmond Castle, a handsome structure overlooking the town that dates back to the 11th century following the Norman Conquest. It features a fascinating visitor experience that guides you through the castle’s rich history. Stroll along the River Swale and discover the River Swale Waterfalls. Keep following the river and in a mile, you’ll reach the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where you can get wild in nature, hiking and cycling over these beautiful peaks and coming upon gems of English history along the way.

Wonderful quirky property in a great location. Lovely spaces for all to come together but also loads of quiet and beautiful nooks for everyone to find their own space. We really enjoyed the holiday in a fab location within Richmond. We did find it a little difficult with little ones being over 3 floors but that equally allowed some handy separation for the kids at bed times. We had a really lovely family holiday and found plenty to do, the weather was also kind which always helps. Amazing cottage, so well equipped. The host Caroline has thought of absolutely everything. We found the cottage to be very clean and in an excellent location with only a 2 minute walk into the centre of Richmond. Our one and only negative would be that the garden was not ideal for crawling/toddling babies, we couldnt really relax as there is a veryRead more low wall with a pretty significant drop at the other side. Myself, Partner and grown up children with their respect Partners stayed for a week at O.H. We were celebrating my 70th birthday. We had a great week and the weather was fantastic. The ladies were in the hot tub every night. The house was only a 10min. Walk from the quaint Market Town of Richmond which had so much to offer. We were a party of 6 (3 adult couples) and had a great weekend, the cottage is spacious, really well equipped and in a great location.
