Beautifully presented both inside and out, this charming village house is the perfect base for long country walks with loved ones.

Discover a stunning three-bedroom holiday cottage set in a pretty village in the Yorkshire Wolds, just 10.5 miles outside Beverley. Elegant, stylish interiors, a garden and hot tub to swoon over and a fabulous foodie pub under a mile's walk from the cottage - there is so much to adore about this classic Yorkshire holiday cottage.

The first thing which strikes you about this cottage is the idyllic location. This area of the Yorkshire Wolds is peppered with picturesque villages and rolling mellow hills, and Hotham is no exception. The property sits right next to the gates of an attractive country estate, giving the cottage a grand and luxurious appeal right from the offset.

Head inside and find a charming open-plan sitting room and dining area. Bags of space for the whole family, but when evening falls with the candles lit and the wood burner glowing softly, it is the ultimate cosy retreat. Step through to the contemporary galley-style kitchen which includes everything you could wish for to whip up culinary treats. You'll also find a pleasant view out to the large garden at the rear, ideal if you have children running around and want to keep one eye on their whereabouts.

There is also a delightful snug downstairs which doubles up as a children's playroom or a teenager's escape. Just opposite, you'll find the family bathroom with its exquisite fixtures and fittings. A bath with a shower overhead is included, just perfect to sink into once the kids are asleep.

All of the bedrooms in the cottage are upstairs. A twin bedroom and a single bedroom sit side by side, both have room for a cot. At the end of the landing, you'll find the large master bedroom. Bathed in light from double aspect windows, it's a heavenly space to wake up in each morning. You won't want to get out of bed!

Outside the property, the spacious vibe is continued. The extensive garden is a real luxury and as it's completely enclosed, it offers a generous and safe place for little ones to blow off some steam. And while they are doing that, you can settle down on the patio furniture and enjoy a nice glass of something chilled. In the evening, take a dip in the hot tub and enjoy a spot of stargazing as the warm bubbles soothe away the stresses and strains of modern life.

The garden also includes a handy pair of out-houses to store your bikes and prams etc. This area of the Wolds is perfect for cycling and with the quiet estate roads around the cottage, is quite safe for youngsters too.

  • 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single
  • 1 bathroom with overhead shower
  • Kitchen: oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer

The cottage is located in the charming estate village of Hotham in the Yorkshire Wolds. Typical of many of the villages in this area, Hotham is set right beside a grand country estate with acres of traditional English parkland to explore. It's perfect if you want to take your bike out or fancy a conker collecting expedition with the little ones in the autumn months.

There is an excellent pub in the village and several more good dining pubs within a short drive. And if you feel like dining in, we recommend the short trip to the local farm shop, just a mile from the cottage. Stock up on the finest Yorkshire produce here, from excellent local beef to the most amazing pies and cakes. There is also a very good cafe here which is open seven days a week.

Hotham is an ideal base from which to explore all that this area has to offer. The beautiful city of Beverley is just 10.5 miles from the cottage. Explore the stunning Beverley Minster before indulging in a spot of shopping around its lively cobbled squares. And beyond the town, get to know the spectacular Yorkshire Wolds, a range of low rolling hills rising from the River Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head. The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling.

The Wolds are also home to many historical homes and religious sites as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens. And for kids, there are heaps of fantastic attractions nearby (indoor and out) including the excellent Yorkshire Wildlife Park (32.5 miles) and The Deep in Hull (18.5 miles). The Yorkshire Coast, North York Moors and beautiful city of York (26.5 miles) are also all within easy driving distance from the cottage and make for a great day trip.

Park Cottage was lovely. It was beautifully clean with all you need for a self catering break. The garden was quiet and very well tended. The surrounding village was also really pretty too. The owner Christian was also very helpful.

Wonderful cottage, beautiful location spotlessly clean and lots of helpful info and thoughtful touches (like milk, eggs and a bottle of prosecco!). The only downside was the noise in the master bedroom from the downstairs bathroom which was a bit disruptive. It didnt spoil our stay though and we would stay again. Thanks so much

A truly delightful cottage. We loved the rural location with access to the estate nearby and the children's room and fabulous garden. Every detail was thought through including the barbecue, scooters for the children and plenty of fuel for the log burner. We can't wait to return.
