Lovingly decorated with a comfortable but elegant touch, this gorgeous old sandstone building has been transformed into a luxurious and unique holiday home. And with the fabulous foodie destination of Helmsley just 12.5 miles away, the location is quite simply magical.

Although the decor and furnishings are contemporary, the use of exposed original brickwork and wooden beams maintain the charm of the old building. Inside the cottage, you'll find a dramatic double-height lounge and dining area complete with a cosy wood burner. Heated flagstone floors add to the comfortable ambience. Jump into your pyjamas and settle down by the fire with a movie on the Smart TV with DVD. There's also an open farmhouse-style kitchen which comes equipped with everything you could need including a fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher for your convenience.

There are two spacious bedrooms in this beautiful cottage, both with en-suite facilities. The first bedroom is located on the ground floor and features a built-in wardrobe, TV and an en-suite with a bath and overhead shower. The master bedroom is on the first floor and enjoys a generous en-suite with walk-in shower, separate bath and mesmerising views out across the moors. This room has a super king-size bed which can also be configured as two singles if required.

To the front of the cottage is a lawned area of grass which looks out onto the estate. And to the rear, a charming sheltered patio complete with BBQ for those balmy North York Moors summer evenings.

Please note, this cottage is set on a shooting estate.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage is set high up in a picturesque valley in the western reaches of the North York Moors. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, the lush pastures and woodlands of the Western Moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns. There are some stunning walks right from your doorstep, and you are just a few miles from the famous Cleveland Way.

Just 7.5 miles north is the market town of Stokesley. Hosting a market every Friday on its handsome cobbled square, this charming Georgian town offers a host of independent shops, cafes and restaurants to try. There's also a nine-hole golf course and swimming pool. The neighbouring village of Great Ayton is also well worth a visit, an idyllic Yorkshire village set beside a meandering river, and once the boyhood home of Captain James Cook.

The beautiful market town of Helmsley is 12.5 miles away and is well worth a visit. If you fancy a little pampering, you'll find the Verbena Spa here; perfect for a little me-time indulgence. The vibrant village of Osmotherley is 13 miles away with its olde-worlde charm and two fantastic gastropubs. And no holiday in Yorkshire could be complete without an afternoon tea in Betty’s Tearooms, found in the pretty market town of Northallerton, 18 miles away.

You're also close to Castle Howard (25 miles), York (36.5 miles) and the North Yorkshire coast, so lots of choice for day trips.

Excellent location for Cleveland Way. Lovely cottage, extremely warm and had everything we needed. Very rural, but we loved that!

While the cottage is beautiful it is a little too remote for me. Like other reviews have said the hot water took forever to come through. We could not find the heating thermostat for the under floor heating so pleased it wasnt too cold.Beds were a little soft used to a firmer mattress. Apart from that it was a relaxing break.

We enjoyed our stay at Partridge cottage, but found the area just a little too remote. Although the cottage allowed dogs we found the area generally not that good for walking as keeping two energetic Lurchers on leads is not ideal. We did however find a local country park where we could let them run off steam. The owners should put in the info bRead moreook that it takes at least 10 minutes for the hot water to come through, but hot and plentiful when it did. If you like remote (and pheasants!) then this is an ideal location. Hide
