This property is perfect for couples seeking a romantic moment and a getaway from busy lives, or for small families wanting to make memories and spend quality time together.

Step inside this humble abode where rustic charm welcomes you to put your feet up and unwind in the lounge. Exposed beams and brickwork add character and complement your countryside location whilst providing an inviting atmosphere in which to relax in front of the TV or with a good book. Soak up the sun on the window seat and switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this calming spot.

After exploring and adventuring, you will soon be thinking about what’s for dinner. Head into the smart sleek kitchen where plenty of appliances mean you can make light work of meal preparation and enjoy putting new and exciting flavours together. Make sure your cupboards are filled with goodies so you can whip together a last-minute picnic for family outings or savour a tasty snack. Throw open the lovely stable door and let the natural light and fresh air flood inside as you rustle up your tasty treats. Enjoy a romantic meal for two at the table or plate up in the garden and dine alfresco at one of the many seating areas available to you. The pleasant cottage garden is great for unwinding on summer evenings and gazing up at the stars and dusky skies; steps to different levels mean you can find a secluded spot to rest in.

Set in the secluded village of Sinderby, the cottage is conveniently close to the A1 (M), meaning you’ve got easy access to many of Yorkshire’s most popular and picturesque locations. Sinderby is perfectly positioned in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors – both just 10 miles away – offering breathtaking walks and stunning views. The neighbouring village of Pickhill, just over 1 mile away, offers village amenities including a pub and a shop.

Beyond the village, the handsome town of Bedale (9 miles) is worth a visit. Stop for a coffee before making your way around the town’s antique shops. Foodies will be delighted by the range of local produce, including beers and cheeses, on offer. Further on into the Dales you’ll find the charming market town of Leyburn (20 miles). Leyburn is an archetypical slice of Dales market town life. You’ll find lovely traditional shops, pubs and cafes all gathered around the handsome town square, which hosts a busy market every Friday. Leyburn is also home to the biggest auction centre outside of London if you fancy picking up a bargain. The nearby town of Richmond (19.5 miles) is similar in many ways and has a lovely setting along the River Swale. It boasts an 11th-century castle, fine Georgian architecture, an historic Georgian theatre and a large cobbled market square as some of its many attractions.

The cottage is also close to the pretty market town of Northallerton (12.5 miles) where handsome Georgian houses line the long main street. The wonderful Betty’s Tearooms is here as is a fantastic local deli, Lewis & Cooper’s Food Emporium, and of course the quintessentially Yorkshire department store of Barkers.

Just under 9 miles in the other direction, the vibrant cathedral city of Ripon boasts a Thursday market, numerous coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and a nice collection of independent shops to explore. The cathedral is smaller than its close neighbour, York Minster, but is still an awe-inspiring sight. In addition, every night for at least 450 years the Ripon Hornblower has sounded the curfew at 9pm from all four sides of the obelisk in the marketplace, come rain or shine, followed by a 15-minute history of the ceremony and the city – an experience not to be missed! If you are partial to a flutter, Ripon Race Ground has around 15 meets from April to early September. Known as 'Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse' it has a distinct atmosphere harking back to a bygone era – traditional tea-rooms and bandstands sit alongside the champagne bar.

This area of Yorkshire has enough historical sites to keep you busy for a week with Ripley Castle (16 miles), Newby Hall (12 miles) and Norton Conyers (5 miles). Visit lovely Fountains Abbey and the gorgeous Studley Royal Water Garden, 12.5 miles away – this World Heritage site is deservedly one of the National Trust's most visited locations. As well as the spectacular ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, the grounds are home to an Elizabethan Mansion, a medieval deer park and some of the most romantic vistas in the country.

Harrogate (20 miles) is an absolute must-visit if you're staying here. Encircled by its famous Stray, or 200 acres, of horseshoe-shaped grassland, the Victorian spa town of Harrogate has a bright and breezy open-air feel and is characterised by its impressive floral displays. And as you would expect of such a bustling upbeat town, Harrogate boasts over 300 bars and restaurants together with all the shops, cinemas, parks and gardens you could ever wish for.

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough.
