Resting within the Yorkshire Wolds, this delightful two-bedroom cottage is the ideal destination to explore the rolling countryside for those interested in walking and cycling.

Explore the Yorkshire Wolds when you stay at this appealing, two-bedroom holiday cottage for four in the village of Langtoft. Take two happy hounds with you too to discover footpaths straight from home that will take you across undulating chalk hills and along scenic riverside routes. This is also a locality that will appeal to those eager to get out and about on two wheels. Return home to relax in the garden and watch the children and your four-legged friends playing on the grass in the sizable enclosed outdoor space.

Wander into this Yorkshire holiday home which has been designed to offer bright, airy living space and to accommodate some guests in your party who may be less mobile. Make your way into the light, open-plan kitchen/diner to put the kettle on and perhaps dish out a slice of homemade cake or Yorkshire parkin bought on one of your day trips out. Relax for a while in here and simply enjoy your holiday before deciding whose turn it is to cook and start thinking about whipping up something tasty for the group. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might require to help you in this task, and that there is a handy dishwasher too, so no one has to worry about washing up. Serve up at the table in here and pour everyone a glass of wine so you can all toast your happy holiday.

Beyond the kitchen/diner, find a useful utility room, where you can whizz damp clothing and dog towels through the washing machine. Discover a generous, twin bedroom, which can be made in to a super-king zip-and-link bed upon request with en-suite wet room.

Climb the stairs up to the first floor where the second bedroom and the lounge are situated. This comfortable bedroom also has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed; its en-suite bathroom features a bath, with a shower above. The large lounge has been arranged with comfortable seating for you to recline on after all your busy activities. Switch on the TV in here or decide to take it even easier and to watch a film in bed instead, as each bedroom has its own TV.

Spill out into the garden on warm days. Enjoy your first cup of tea of the morning out here – and perhaps even your breakfast. You’ll find parking for two cars also at the rear of the house.

  • 2 bedrooms - 2 super-king-size zip-and-link beds (can be made into twins on request)
  • Ground-floor en-suite wet room with shower and WC, en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and WC
  • Electric hob/oven, fridge, dishwasher chest freezer
  • Utility room with washing machine
  • Smart TVs in lounge, dining area and bedrooms
  • Enclosed garden
  • Wi-Fi included
  • Off-street parking for 2 cars
  • 2 well-behaved dogs welcome
  • Shop 6.5 miles and pub 1.5 miles

Set inland, approximately 15 miles from Scarborough and 19 miles from Beverley, this welcoming holiday home at Langtoft is some 14.5 miles from the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and 11 miles from the North Riding Forest Park. For days out from the cottage, venture to Bempton on the coast, 14 miles away, where you can see flocks of seabirds nesting. You can also visit the traditional seaside town of Scarborough, which is 15 miles away; spend time in Filey, 14 miles away, or in Bridlington, 12 miles away. All these places are ideal for anyone who hopes to be able to paddle or swim in the sea and picnic on the sand. This inviting property is also 19 miles from Beverley.

If you choose to visit Scarborough, make your way through its historic streets to explore the castle or pop into St Mary’s churchyard to visit Anne Bronte’s grave. Enjoy a stroll around the South Cliff area taking in the famous spa and Italian Gardens. Catch the cliff lift down to the beach and walk around to the peaceful North Bay, visit the renowned Sea Life Centre or explore the beautiful Peasholm Park with its boating lake, woodland walks and oriental influences. The old railway line which ran from Scarborough to Whitby is now a stunning cycle and walking route and is the perfect choice if you feel like a coastal walk taking in some spectacular scenery.

Sitting at the eastern foot of the North York Moors, the region’s dramatic landscape of heather and open moorland is just a short drive away (approximately 20 miles from Langtoft). Somewhat smaller than the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors still cover an area of almost 600 square miles and, like the Dales, you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly. But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the moors; in place of harsh limestone and dramatic peaks, you’ll find gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodland and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys.

The rest of the Yorkshire coast is also close by. Much like its Cornish counterpart, the North Yorkshire coastline is a heady mix of rugged cliff tops, peaceful bays and pretty fishing villages. With long sandy beaches and all the traditional seaside trimmings of yesteryear, this is proper bucket and spade territory. That’s not to say it’s stuck in the past; in fact, the coast’s villages and towns combine the traditional with the contemporary effortlessly, with trinket shops and tea rooms sitting alongside upmarket champagne and oyster bars.

Loved the place. Nice location, peaceful, until our furry child heard other people nearby! You will need a car to go anywhere, there's nothing within walking distance, which suited us just fine. We had the best of both worlds, shopping / activities were all within a 30 min drive, but then we could retreat into the peaceful cottage, with it's sunny Read more& secure garden & active goldfinch nests nearby, which made for a delight. If you stay in the village of Langtoft, you really do need to self-cater. There' were four adults staying in the property and we would have appreciated bigger saucepans or a large cooking pot.
