This modern beautiful new build home is perfect for families that want to enjoy a slice of the Yorkshire rural life with loved ones where you can escape to the country and coast.

This immaculately finished modern cottage in the heart of the Yorkshire village of Walkington is the ideal rural retreat for families. Nestled in the Yorkshire countryside, the village itself is home to two pubs and a delightful shop selling local produce, so you can immerse yourself in village life and the surrounding tranquillity. Not only is there countryside to explore nearby, but you are also within easy reach of the Yorkshire coast, where you can take long walks along the coast path, appreciate the rugged views and soak up the fresh sea air. If you prefer something a little more cosmopolitan, you can always head further afield to the cities of Hull or York, which have a range of attractions, shops and eateries to choose from. Of an evening, return home to relax in the comfort of the stylish lounge or enjoy a BBQ in the delightful garden.

As you approach this wonderful property, you’ll appreciate the attractive façade that is contemporary, but sympathetic to its traditional rural surroundings. Stepping inside, you can take off your boots and hang up your coats in the convenient hall before heading into the modern, well-equipped kitchen. Cool white and grey tones make it light and airy, whilst the breakfast bar and mod-cons create the ideal place to cook and socialise. Heading back across the hall, you’ll find the exquisitely finished lounge/diner which has been decorated in French-country cottage chic décor with sumptuous soft furnishings, decorative fittings and timeless furniture. Again, soft grey and white tones create a light and airy feel, with soft pinks adding a touch of femininity. It is a lovely place to relax and enjoy each other’s company and, on cooler evenings, you can snuggle up in front of the wood burner-effect electric fire. Upstairs, there are two beautiful bedrooms where the décor echoes that of the lounge. One is a super-king-size and the other a twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request), both offering a luxurious environment to ensure you have a good night’s sleep. Completing the accommodation is a stunning, white, tiled bathroom. There is a bath a with hand-held shower and a separate shower. Added touches such as bathrobes make your stay extra comfortable. (Please note that in some first-floor rooms, sloping ceilings reduce the height in places).

Back downstairs, you can access the garden from patio doors in the kitchen or dining room. The garden is well-maintained with an artificial lawn. There is a choice of two courtyard areas, which are both ideal spots for either morning coffee or an evening meal. There is modern furniture on both and a BBQ. Off-road parking is available for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 super-king-size and 1 twin (which can be made into a super-king-size on request, by use of topper and secured)
  • 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC
  • Electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer
  • Off street parking for two cars
  • Welcome pack included
  • Shop and pub within walking distance
  • Smart TV with Prime Video and Netflix
  • Rear garden with artificial lawn and side courtyard
  • Underfloor heating

The beautiful market town of Beverley (4.5 miles) is one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets with its stunning 13th-century Beverley Minster often regarded as one of Europe’s finest Gothic churches. Take a look at the town’s medieval architecture before indulging in a spot of shopping around its lively cobbled squares. Finish off with a drink in one of the traditional Yorkshire pubs where time has stood still for decades.

And beyond the town, get to know the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds, a range of low rolling hills rising from the River Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head (35 miles). The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling.

The Wolds are also home to many historical homes and religious sites as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens. And for kids, there are heaps of fantastic attractions nearby (indoor and out) including the excellent Yorkshire Wildlife Park (38 miles) and The Deep in Hull (13.5 miles). The Yorkshire Coast, North York Moors and beautiful city of York are also all within easy driving distance and make for a great day out.

The jewel in North Yorkshire's crown, we think York is worth the 30-mile drive from this property. This ancient walled city has been the north's spiritual capital for 2,000 years, but that's not to say it is stuck in the past; York's affluent population and its influx of tourist pounds has helped to create a cultural and commercial oasis. History seeps out of every cobbled street, but the crooked old buildings house a fantastic range of contemporary designer shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Everywhere in York is easily reachable by foot as this small but perfectly formed city houses most of its main attractions within the city walls. Middle Ages' town planning means it can take quite some time to get your bearings but finding your way around the labyrinth of warped streets is part of the fun. Make sure you take in York Minster, The Shambles, the Railway Museum and Bettys tearoom whilst you're there.
