And for the nights when cooking seems like too much effort, book dinner in one of the highly regarded restaurants. Nearby Otley is also a charming Yorkshire town and Chevin Forest Park is a great place to blow off some steam.

Venture across to nearby Pateley Bridge (12.5 miles), a charming little market town very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The Main Street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a fantastic wine shop - everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here, dating back to the early 1800s - little has changed inside since then.

And if you want to explore Yorkshire's cities, Leeds is 17.5 miles away and is packed with designer shops, cafes and top-notch restaurants. Other nearby attractions include Harewood House (14.5 miles), Bolton Abbey (9.5 miles) and the RHS Gardens at Harlow Carr (8.5 miles). There is just so much to see and do here!

A perfect getaway. We stayed over New Year and it was peaceful and cosy. We were able to explore lots in the local area and always looked forward to returning to this lovely place to get the log burner on!

The cottage was spotlessly clean, in a lovely location and well situated for sight seeing and walking. While we were staying it was certainly quiet and private. Lovely location but with very steep drive and in close proximity to neighbouring cottage. This was empty while we were at Poachers Den but, if occupied, you would feel very overlooked - their barbecue and outside seating is right outside your sitting area and bedroom. Also headroom in bathroom is very restricted.

The cottage was lovely but if the property next door had been let at the same time to a party of 12 people I dont think we would have enjoyed it as much... next door is very close so there is not much privacy , so for that reason only we wouldnt book again.

The cottage is beautifully equipped, everything you could want. Remote though, and very close to a house which could have 12 people staying. The views from the property were excellent.
