This stunning two-bedroom apartment is the perfect base for families or couples looking to explore West Yorkshire and beyond. Set in the heart of the charming village of Marsden, you will find a choice of shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep, not to mention the spectacular Peak District National Park just 3 miles away. Spend your days strolling the heather-clad hills, sipping wine at the local vineyard or browsing the metropolitan delights of the market town of Huddersfield before returning to this former pub to relax and unwind in style.

Accessed via a shared entrance hall, this first-floor apartment opens into a fantastic open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Whether you’re travelling as couples, friends or family, this is a wonderful space for entertaining and spending quality time together when you’re not out and about exploring this magnificent area of West Yorkshire. Finished in a contemporary style with soft neutral decor, modern furnishings and plenty of natural light, this is an impressive and welcoming space. Keen cooks will not be disappointed with the chic kitchen area, with its sleek modern units, state-of-the-art appliances and ample workspace. Meanwhile, fellow guests can keep them company as they relax on the barstools at the breakfast bar with a refreshing glass of wine. When it’s time to dine, choose between the modern breakfast bar or the more traditional wooden table and chairs nearby. Afterwards, sink into the sumptuous sofa that fits snugly into the inviting lounge area that occupies one cosy corner of this room. Settle in for the evening as you make the most of the smart TV, choosing between an old classic film or the latest reality TV show. Or simply sit and watch the world go by outside through the large window. When the day is done, choose between the two elegantly finished bedrooms. Both bedrooms boast beautifully dressed king-size beds, tasteful feature walls and pretty views. While one benefits from its own en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, the other opens into an en-suite shower room, so there will be no need to form a queue in the mornings.

Make the most of your setting in beautiful Marsden, set on the River Colne in West Yorkshire. This village is home to award-winning restaurants, friendly pubs and boutique shops for those partial to a spot of retail therapy. Surrounded by expansive, scenic countryside, this is a fantastic location for walking and cycling breaks. From the town, enjoy a walk along the river while looking out for local wildlife or head south to discover the spectacular Peak District National Park as you take on some more challenging climbs. Stretching for an incredible 555 miles, this is one of Britain’s most visited national parks and you’ll soon discover why it’s so loved. A haven for walkers, cyclists, climbers, cavers and campers, there is something for every kind of adventurer.

Meanwhile, just 13.5 miles north of the property is the thriving market town of Halifax. Once the centre of the wool trade in Victorian England, many of the opulent buildings and monuments from this time can still be seen, including Piece Hall, a magnificent Georgian building that was once the place where weavers sold their cloth. Nowadays, it’s a fabulous place to grab a tasty bite to eat or peruse the independent shops and boutiques, as well as catch some outdoor performances.

Other impressive buildings include Halifax Minster, the town’s gothic church; the Grade II-listed Halifax Town Hall, created by the same man who designed the Houses of Parliament; and the 15th-century Shibden Hall, complete with beautiful parkland all around and once home to the ‘first modern lesbian’, Anne Lister, who wrote her secret diaries there. The parkland is an excellent place to spend a day, where you can walk beside the pretty flowerbeds, row across the Mere or ride on the miniature train which will delight any children in your party. Kids will also love Eureka! The National Children’s Museum, which is sure to capture their imaginations with its 400 interactive exhibits.

If you enjoy food, make sure to visit Halifax’s Borough Market, which is a stunning Grade II-listed building hosting an award-winning covered market throughout the week. Sample some local produce and pick up a tasty treat to enjoy back at your luxury holiday cottage in nearby Marsden.

Great location for exploring. Apartment small but compact. Good breakfast bar and cupboard space. Two good bedrooms small ensuit but done the job ,really essential for two bathrooms. Not suitable if limited mobility due to it being on first floor and few steps within the apartment.

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed. Then there's the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, known to have inspired David Hockney. And with a packed calendar of events and festivals each year, including the Malton Food Festival, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Great Yorkshire Show, there's always something exciting to enjoy.

Our holiday cottages in Yorkshire are handpicked to ensure a luxurious and uniquely memorable experience. From dog-friendly cottages in the country to large family houses by the sea and romantic retreats in the city, we have a holiday in Yorkshire to suit everyone.
