Sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms, you’ll soon be taking to the streets and surrounding countryside for adventures and a healthy dose of true Yorkshire hospitality. At sunset, return to your home-away-from-home for an evening meal and all the home comforts you could wish for, ascending a flight of stairs accessed via a shared timber entrance hall.

Wake up to the sounds of the town bursting to life all around you in the lounge, brewing a mug of something hot and comforting and perching quietly by the bay window to watch from above. Clasp your drink between your hands and take tentative sips, gazing across the rooftops to the rolling hills of the countryside beyond and feeling the warmth spreading right down to the tips of your toes. The simple yet stylish decor and plush sofas are a treat for curling up and reading books, watching TV or simply enjoying the ambience, whether you are chatting with your family or spreading out a board game on the coffee table ready to play.

Wooden double doors fling open to reveal the dining space that doubles as a hallway complete with open-sided stairs and a cupboard for storage. Take a seat in the dining room and light candles for special mealtimes, uncorking a bottle of red for holiday celebrations. Next, the kitchen is a homely country-cottage style haven for rustling up hearty feasts just like your grandmother used to make, and the fantastic location means that it is no bother to nip out to the shops if you wish to pick up mouthwatering local delights and handcrafted artisan produce. Sizzling bacon at breakfast and roast dinners with all the trimmings are all possible, so roll up your sleeves and take advantage of the gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and microwave. There’s a washing machine, a dishwasher and a breakfast bar too, but the ultimate treat is the Tassimo coffee machine to indulge those who can’t resist a high-quality caffeine fix.

At bedtime, you’ll find the first bedroom on the same level, an elegant room with thoughtful extra touches and a crisply-dressed double bed accessorised by scatter cushions. Snuggle down under the duvet and catch up on some much-needed rest, best enjoyed after a spot of relaxation in the bathroom that has a marvellous shower over the bath. Upstairs, the second bedroom features a sumptuous king-size bed and inspiring views of the countryside. Should you require alternative sleeping space, there is a pretty snug room with a handy sofa bed. This room also benefits from a TV and office space for workaholics and other members of the party to escape to and watch their favourite films. Venturing along the hallway will reward you with additional washing facilities in the form of an elegant shower room.

The pièce de résistance is the fabulous morning room, a tranquil sanctuary with gently sloped ceilings and cosy soft furnishing. Natural light streams in through the double doors, which can be thrown open for an al fresco vibe. The private roof terrace beyond offers a ringside seat for inspiring sunsets, inviting you to pour a glass of wine and sit back to admire the sky bursting with colour until the light fades and the stars appear to play. In terms of parking, there is a car park to the rear of the property that’s free and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Alternative parking can be found nearby on-street and via the local car parks, be sure to check for any restrictions and consider the small charge when choosing this option. There’s a secure bike rack for storage too, and the friendly owners will kick start your stay with a thoughtful welcome pack.

Pateley Bridge itself is a charming little market town, very typical of this area of Yorkshire. The main street is peppered with cafes, restaurants, local stores, quality butchers and a wine shop; everything you need to stock up for your stay. You'll also find the self-proclaimed 'Oldest Sweet Shop in England' here dating back to the early 1800s.

Pateley Bridge sits at the heart of the breathtaking Nidderdale landscape, itself an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and immediately adjacent to the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

There are plenty of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance including the fabulous Brimham Rocks (4.5 miles) and the famous Three Peaks. Or check out the cathedral town of Ripon which is also well worth a visit and is just 12 miles away, with its regal castle overlooking the town below. The RHS garden at Harlow Carr (16 miles) is a great place to visit for those that love flowers and plants.

Take a spa day or have a massage at the Turkish Baths in the cosmopolitan town of Harrogate, 14.5 miles. Time a visit with the Great Yorkshire Show – it is a massive platform for farmers and local craft-makers to showcase their way of life and their produce on a grand scale. Harrogate is best known for its convention centres and it’s an events hub too, so it’s worth seeing what is on their programme.

A beautiful spacious apartment over two floors. Everything is thoughtfully done. The owners were amazing and very attentive. We absolutely loved tbis place and will hopefully be back very soon.
