Set in a stunning North Yorkshire dale, this breathtaking holiday home offers relaxing, light and spacious accommodation and is a fabulous setting for a large family or group of friends to celebrate.

A breathtaking six-bedroom country retreat set in one of the most stunning locations in Yorkshire, this large luxury holiday home is outstanding in every way. From the huge en-suite bedrooms to the magnificent garden with its fire pit and commanding views of the Moors, this is accommodation with serious class. The ultimate choice for those special family get-togethers and celebrations with friends.

Let's start downstairs and with the heart of the home, the enormous farmhouse kitchen. Designed as a space to socialise and relax in, this beautiful kitchen boasts flagstone floors, a family-friendly kitchen table to gather around each morning, an AGA to keep you warm and toasty year-round and two large American style fridge/freezers (well you'll need lots of room for all those bottles of bubbly!). And as this house has been transformed to cater specifically for large groups, you'll also find two dishwashers to give a helping hand and a conventional oven and hob.

Leading off from the kitchen, you'll find a handsome entrance hall and large boot-room which is ideal for storing muddy shoes and coats. There's also a downstairs cloakroom here and a utility which houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. In the opposite direction, you'll discover the formal dining room, an incredibly atmospheric room with original oak panelling and soft lighting. Picture your loved ones gathered around this candlelit table sharing stories and a glass of wine or two, late into the night.

Make your way across the double-height hall to find the sitting room, another generous room in the same decadent vein of the dining room. Light the open fire and settle down in front of the glowing flames, time to relax! There's a Smart TV in here and Wi-Fi is also provided.

Time for bed; sweep up the grand staircase to discover the six family-sized bedrooms. Every room has a TV and is en-suite with either a walk-in shower or a bath with shower overhead, a real luxury when you're sharing with lots of people. There are four king-sized bedrooms and two twin rooms, all of which boast sumptuous cotton bed linen and amazing views of the surrounding landscape.

The cottage has a beautiful large garden to both the front and rear of the property. You can enjoy looking down over the Dale from the comfort of the conservatory, a real pleasure at every time of year. And in the summer months, escape to the summer house set in its elevated position at the top of the garden. When night falls, gather around the fire pit, glass of bubbly in hand, and enjoy catching up with those nearest and dearest to you while the fire lights up your faces.

For your convenience, all the TVs in the cottage have HDMI cables available if you want to connect your devices to watch movies or other downloads. There is also a box of toys for younger children, as well as children's crockery and cutlery in the kitchen.

This property requires payment of a £400 security deposit.

The cottage is set just above a pretty little hamlet (complete with a local pub) in the heart of the North York Moors National Park in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This particular Dale is famed for its daffodil walk, when each spring, the river banks come alive with the yellow flowers, said to be planted originally by the monks who settled on this land many hundreds of years ago.

Lesser known than its Yorkshire cousin the Dales, the North York Moors are literally on your doorstep. This glorious expanse of the heather-clad countryside is simply stunning, and it's well worth taking some time to explore it properly. The Moors cover an area of almost 600 square miles and like the Dales, you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly. But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the Moors. There is a sense of wilderness, particularly on top of the high central moorlands.

This is serious walking country, so if you enjoy donning the old walking boots and striking out into the countryside, this cottage has the perfect location. No need to get in the car at all, there are some awe-inspiring walking trails from the door. And the same is true for cycling. There are also countless attractive villages to explore within a few miles including the chocolate box Hutton-le-Hole (6 miles), Rosedale Abbey (5.5 miles), Danby (9 miles) and Goathland (19 miles) to name just a few.

Close by, you also have the fantastic town of Helmsley (14 miles). At the heart of the town square is a statue of Lord Feversham, a distant ancestor of the current Lord who resides in Duncombe Park. This stunning baroque mansion sits on the outskirts of town and is a good choice for an afternoon's sightseeing. If you want to indulge some more architectural desires, the equally grand Nunnington Hall, 13.5 miles from the cottage, is another grand abode worth a peek.

Helmsley is a foodie’s paradise, packed with exquisite tearooms, cafes and organic delis. It's also surrounded by some of the best gastro pubs in the UK. Tucked alongside these culinary delights is a plethora of unique shops, galleries and antique dealers, easily enough to build up an appetite for lunch.

The neighbouring town of Pickering (16.5 miles) is similar in many ways and is host to its own delightful set of shops, cafes and restaurants. A few miles further on takes you to Thornton-Le-Dale, a pretty North York Moors village with thatched houses and a sleepy little brook. Stop for some ice cream here and remind yourself how relaxing life in the slow lane feels. You're also close to Castle Howard (20 miles), York and the Yorkshire coast, so lots of choice for day trips.

We had a great time and lovely house, great space, stunning location and sensational views. A great event house and perfect for Xmas too. Only feedback the dishwashers I sense were on their last legs and some of the mattresses and pillows were hard but that didnt detract from our enjoyment

Generally we were very pleased with every thing about this cottage. The general fit out and location were exactly as we imagined.Whilst there was very little to improve on we might suggest allowing the windows in the conservatory to open (they had been painted shut) to improve the ventilation on sunny days. Opening the door was possible but due to Read morethe cottages countryside location this let in very many flies which died and required frequent hoovering up. Also they got into the kitchen requiring food to be covered up constantly. In Australia we use fly screens however these don't look particularly nice. Hide
