Nestling in an idyllic corner of the North York Moors, this beautiful holiday cottage has been thoughtfully restored to provide an elegant and stylish country retreat for couples and small families.

Nestled within one of the prettiest corners of the North York Moors National Park, this beautiful two-bedroom luxury holiday cottage is a delicious blend of character, style and elegance. It's the perfect country retreat for couples and small families and also accepts two guests of the four-legged variety making it a great getaway for everybody.

Once the stable block for the local farmhouse, this period property has been given a 21st century makeover. The original stable doors have been lovingly restored and the exposed beams, stone walls, underfloor heating throughout give the property real character.

Step inside and you'll discover a luxury cottage which is surprisingly spacious. Natural light floods in and gives a bright, airy feel. The underfloor heating makes this room cosy and the kitchen is well stocked and includes everything you would expect of a cottage at this standard. There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer and children's crockery and cutlery too. If you haven't had time to get to the shops before reaching the property, you'll arrive to a fantastic welcome hamper to get you started with fresh bread, biscuits, and eggs among your essentials.

The kitchen leads on to the open-plan sitting room and dining area. A dramatic double-height room with a feature stone wall and timeless furniture. Settle down on the armchair with a good book or see what's on the movie channel that night. There are lots of extras to keep you entertained including the Smart TV and Wi-Fi. There is also a dining table here for you to enjoy a meal together.

On through to the bedrooms, both of which are on the same floor. There is a double and a king-size bedroom available, both of which boast heated flooring, stone walls, TVs and crisp bed linen. The shower room features a large walk-in shower and complimentary toiletries.

Outside the cottage you'll find a large lawned garden and stone patio. Garden furniture is provided so you can enjoy dining alfresco on those balmy summer days. The cottage is set in a peaceful hamlet, so if you want to enjoy some quality time in the countryside, this is the cottage for you.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

The cottage is set in a pretty little hamlet (complete with a local pub) in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. This particular Dale is famed for its daffodil walk, when each spring, the river banks come alive with the yellow flowers, said to be planted originally by the monks who settled on this land many hundreds of years ago.

Lesser known that its Yorkshire cousin the Dales, the North York Moors are literally on your doorstep. This glorious expanse of heather-clad countryside is simply stunning, and it's well worth taking some time to explore it properly. The Moors cover an area of almost 600 square miles and like the Dales you can easily find yourself miles from anywhere relatively quickly. But there is something distinctly more civilised and less remote about the Moors. There is a sense of wilderness, particularly on top of the high central moorlands, but its cast in comforting soft focus.

If you enjoy donning the old walking boots and striking out into the countryside, this cottage has the perfect location. No need to get in the car at all, there are some breathtaking walking trails from the door. And the same is true for cycling. There are also countless chocolate-box villages to explore within a few miles including Hutton-le-Hole (6 miles), Rosedale Abbey (5.5 miles), Danby (9 miles) and Goathland (18.5 miles) to name just a few.

Close by, you also have the fantastic town of Helmsley (14 miles). At the heart of the town square is a statue of Lord Feversham, a distant ancestor of the current Lord who resides in Duncombe Park. This stunning baroque mansion sits on the outskirts of town and is a good choice for an afternoon's sightseeing. If you want to indulge some more architectural desires, the equally grand Nunnington Hall is 13.5 miles from the cottage and is another grand abode worth a peek.

Helmsley is packed with tearooms, cafes and organic delis, surrounded by some of the best gastropubs in the UK. And tucked alongside these culinary delights, are lots of unique shops, galleries and antique dealers, easily enough to build up an appetite for lunch. Alternatively, the neighbouring town of Pickering (16.5 miles) offers its own set of shops, cafes and restaurants. You're also close to Castle Howard (20 miles) and the Yorkshire coast, so there’s plenty to keep you entertained.

Cottage was extremely dark, the lights had to be on all day.The garden was behind the property not just outside the door which was disappointing

We had a lovely week at Stable Cottage. Our son and daughter in law joined us for the weekend and if we booked again it would be one of the other two bedroom cottages that had two bath/shower rooms. We only had one and it was a very small shower room (fine for just us but not for four people). The situation was lovely and handy having the FevershamRead more Arms Pub a minute away for an evening drink. The food there is very much pub type food.We had some amazing walks while there and one from the cottage itself. Hide

Gorgeous cottage, in a beautiful rural location

Three of us enjoyed a week at Stable cottage. The location was ideal and not too far from several pretty villages. Our favourite was Hutton-le-Hole, and the Rydale Folk Museum was really nice. Everything in our accommodation was scrupulously clean, the cutlery, crockery etc., all very good quality. We found the beds very comfortable too, anRead mored the shower excellent. Our one concern was the difficulty in opening the doors, it proved impossible for the female members of our party and could have been a problem if there had been a fire.We mentioned this to the maintenance chap who assured us it would be attended to.Would certainly recommend this accommodation to others. We spent 3 lovely weeks at Stable Cottage while waiting for our new house to be finished. The cottage had everything we needed, the location was magnificent and the local pub across the road had lovely food and the landlady was really welcoming.
