One of a pair of former Edwardian gatehouses, this pretty cottage has been lovingly restored to offer charming accommodation for a family or couple and is set in a lovely spot in the Yorkshire Wolds.

This delightful cottage is one of two Edwardian gatehouses which have been lovingly made into beautiful luxury holiday cottages. The decor is classic contemporary, with lots of little touches throughout which make it feel incredibly comfortable and homely.

Downstairs you'll find the kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The kitchen has lots of character with its range cooker and sweet little window seat - the perfect spot to perch with a glass of bubbly before dinner! Light the wood burner then stretch out and relax in the sitting room. This room has a very cosy ambience, particularly at night with candles glowing in the background.

Both bedrooms are upstairs. A gorgeous master bedroom with double aspect windows offers beautiful views of the parkland beyond. There is also a charming twin room perfect for little ones and a family bathroom with a bath and separate walk-in shower.

Off-road parking is available at the front of the cottage and to the rear is a delightful and generous shared garden with a patio area. Perfect for a spot of al fresco dining while the kids blow off some steam!

The cottage is set in the lovely estate village of Hotham in the Yorkshire Wolds. Typical of many of the villages in this area, Hotham is set right beside a grand country estate with acres of traditional English parkland to explore. It's perfect if you want to take your bike out or fancy a conker collecting expedition with the little ones in the autumn months.

There is an excellent pub in the village with open fires and a candlelit ambience as well as several good dining pubs within a short drive. If you feel like dining in, we recommend a trip to one of the local farm shops. Stock up on the finest Yorkshire produce, from excellent local beef to the most amazing pies and cakes.

Hotham is an ideal base from which to explore all that this area has to offer. The beautiful city of Beverley is just 12 miles from the cottage. Explore the stunning Beverley Minster before indulging in a spot of shopping around its lively cobbled squares. Finish off with a drink in one of the traditional Yorkshire pubs where time has stood still for decades.

And beyond the town, get to know the gorgeous Yorkshire Wolds, a range of low rolling hills rising from the river Humber and sweeping along to the stunning cliffs at Flamborough Head. The gentle nature of the countryside here makes it an excellent location for walking and cycling.

The Wolds are also home to many historical homes and religious sites as well as one of Yorkshire's largest lavender gardens. And for kids, there are heaps of fantastic attractions nearby (indoor and out) including the excellent Yorkshire Wildlife Park (30 miles) and The Deep in Hull (18 miles). The Yorkshire Coast, North York Moors and beautiful city of York are also all within easy driving distance from Park Cottage and make for a great day out.

This a lovely cottage finished to a high standard and in a very relaxing setting. It has many good places not far away to visit and would recommend Beverley as a great town to while away a day. The cottage itself is set near some lovely walks to relax after a busy day, or explore further afield if you fancy it.

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed. Then there's the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, known to have inspired David Hockney. And with a packed calendar of events and festivals each year, including the Malton Food Festival, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Great Yorkshire Show, there's always something exciting to enjoy.

Our holiday cottages in Yorkshire are handpicked to ensure a luxurious and uniquely memorable experience. From dog-friendly cottages in the country to large family houses by the sea and romantic retreats in the city, we have a holiday in Yorkshire to suit everyone.
