Come together with family and friends in this converted cattle barn with endless countryside views, ideally situated between the Yorkshire Dales and The North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Choose this gorgeous former cattle barn as the base for your Yorkshire adventure, relishing the central location for ease of exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Studded against a spectacular backdrop of hills, meadows and pastures, this farmland setting within the quintessential hamlet of Uckerby is a treat for families and friendship groups with a passion for the outdoors. Prepare picnics laden with produce from the scattering of farm shops and delis nearby and navigate the gentle countryside at leisure, returning for champagne and stargazing in your own private hot tub.

Impressive from the outset with a combination of rustic stone and traditional brickwork with large contemporary windows, your home away from home boasts hordes of character and lots of whimsical details guaranteed to surprise and delight your party of eight. Vaulted ceilings, timber beams and exposed stone create a soothing vibe throughout, especially when accompanied by heated Yorkshire flagstone floors underfoot.

The budding chefs amongst you will quickly fall in love with the quirky kitchen, a luxurious cooking space complete with a central island for casual breakfasts and simple suppers. Cook up a storm on a range-style electric oven and hob, store your goodies in the American-style fridge/freezer, and satisfy your caffeine fix with the Nespresso coffee machine. The handy dishwasher and adjoining utility room with its storage space, washing machine and tumble dryer will take care of all the holiday practicalities, and there is also a microwave for heating up snacks and light meals. Dish up your spoils and move through the large dining table in the entrance hallway, lighting candles and uncorking a bottle of something delicious to make dinner a glamorous affair.

The lounge continues in a similar vein, offering a sanctuary for unwinding with a well-deserved beverage after your day’s activities. Throw a log on the wood burner and snuggle up under a blanket, savouring that first sip of cocoa as the weather rages outside. On sunny mornings, natural light pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Watch TV, catch up with your loved ones and play games in comfort, or climb the cast-iron spiral staircase and discover the fabulous cinema room on the mezzanine level. Attend your own private screening of your favourite films, taking advantage of the popcorn machine and settling down to watch classics come to life on the projector screen with the added bonus of surround sound. There’s a PlayStation and Sonos music system too, ideal for continuing with the party atmosphere long after the credits have rolled.

Weary and sated, the bathroom is the perfect place to pamper yourself before retiring for the night. Soak like a VIP in the freestanding claw-foot bath or enjoy a refreshing shower, trying out some of the gorgeous toiletries you’ve picked up when exploring the local market towns. Four bedrooms provide your sleeping quarters, each one perfectly tailored for enjoying a restful night’s slumber whilst allowing for bespoke sleeping arrangements to suit your party make-up. Guests with young children will appreciate the spacious room which features two optional guest beds and a super-king-size zip-and-link bed that can be converted into a twin on request. There is a further super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom that can be transformed into a twin too, and both remaining king-size bedrooms have the added bonus of a lavish en-suite shower room apiece.

Bordering the surrounding farmland with glorious views of the countryside, your outside space is a wonderful setting for afternoon tea on the lawn and BBQ suppers with toasted marshmallows to follow. Dip your toes in the hot tub and submerge yourself to soak away the stresses of the day, ideally with a glass of ice-cold wine in hand. There’s no need to worry about missing your morning workout; you’ll have sole use of the impressive gym with its cardio machine and weights. There’s even a TV and soundbar to help you zone out as you exercise in style.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
