This is an ideal base camp whether you're looking to strike out on long walks or simply stay in your own surroundings.

Studded amongst rural splendour on the cusp of the Yorkshire Dales, this impressive cottage is an idyllic base for families and friendship groups seeking a tranquil base amongst spectacular scenery. Boasting a charming ambience of roaring open fires, bubbling hot tubs and exquisite views as far as the eye can see, your accommodation sleeps eight guests and two waggy-tailed companions in comfort. The village setting is a treat in itself, but the estate that surrounds you is a breathtaking combination of ancient woodland, sweeping fields and meandering rivers. There’s even a dining pub and a scattering of tearooms and delis close by for the discerning foodies among you.

Cross the gravelled courtyard and step through the traditional stone exterior to find your home-away-from-home, a delightful retreat for reconnecting with your loved ones and exploring your surroundings. Entering via the sleek kitchen, you’ll immediately be tempted to pull up a chair and tuck into a cream tea at the table. Shaker-style units and numerous gadgets provide a modern edge to this welcoming yet functional space, but the original ceilings, beams and doors provide a traditional twist on the overall theme. Return from nearby market towns armed with mouth-watering produce and whip up a fabulous feast fit for your entire party, taking advantage of the electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave.

High ceilings, timber beams and soothing decor set the scene for those cosy nights snuggled up on the lounge sofas with a good film on the TV and a glass of wine in hand. You’ll feel enveloped in calm and relaxation as soon as you draw the floor-length curtains and tease the embers of the open fire, sipping your mug of hot cocoa and delving into your welcome pack of goodies. Natural light streams in through the patio doors on bright early mornings, greeting you as you descend the feature staircase refreshed from a glorious night’s sleep in the pretty twin bedroom on the first floor.

Your sleeping quarters are perfectly styled and offer a sanctuary after a busy day, whether you opt for the aforementioned twin bedroom upstairs or one of three attractive bedrooms on the ground floor. Choose from two gorgeous double bedrooms with views of the courtyard, or luxuriate in the impressive king-size bedroom with its quirky bed and lavish scatter cushions. Your washing facilities consist of a sumptuous shower room with a walk-in shower and WC, and an additional bathroom. This room features a Grecian theme at one end with a mosaic-tiled sink and matching hues in the walk-in shower, but the opposite end is a contemporary dream with a sleek bath and statement tap.

Throw open the doors from the lounge for an al fresco vibe, stepping outside into the garden for a special breakfast and padding barefoot through the morning dew. A vast expanse of lawn stretches beyond the sunny patio area, providing ample space for children and the family canine to frolic freely on balmy afternoons. Pour a summer cocktail and unwind with the warm rays of the sun on your face, shielding your eyes as you admire the tapestry of fields and pastures in the distance. As the day drifts into dusk, your exclusive hot tub is a splendid finale for an already perfect day. Sink into the bubbles with a glass of something fizzing and delicious and stargaze at your leisure.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

With a varied landscape of windswept dales, heather-clad moors and dramatic coast, interspersed with picturesque towns and villages, vibrant cities and a rich historical heritage, Yorkshire is rightly considered one of Britain's premier holiday destinations. Known as 'God's Own County', Yorkshire has nearly one-third of England's National Parkland, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and three sections of coastline designated as Heritage Coast.

Offering infinite opportunities for lovers of the great outdoors, the wild expanse of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North and West Yorkshire is a glorious mix of awe-inspiring scenery, imposing castles, characterful Dales' villages and drystone walls. While to the east, the North York Moors National Park offers atmospheric moorland, fragrant pine forests and charming towns tucked away within steep-sloped valleys. Extending all the way to the Yorkshire Coast, you can even experience a traditional day at the seaside at popular resorts including Whitby, Flamborough and Scarborough. It's a beautiful terrain to explore.

A visit to the historical city of York is a must. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the magnificent York Minster and a myriad of museums, independent shops and exceptional eateries, you will not be disappointed. Then there's the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, known to have inspired David Hockney. And with a packed calendar of events and festivals each year, including the Malton Food Festival, the Tour de Yorkshire and the Great Yorkshire Show, there's always something exciting to enjoy.

Our holiday cottages in Yorkshire are handpicked to ensure a luxurious and uniquely memorable experience. From dog-friendly cottages in the country to large family houses by the sea and romantic retreats in the city, we have a holiday in Yorkshire to suit everyone.
