Set in the heart of Pateley Bridge, part of Nidderdale Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Ideal base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and a beautiful retreat with a clever mix of classic and modern decor accommodating upto six guests.
This fantastic property is in a central location in a favoured Nidderdale town. Tucked away down a quiet side street yet 100 metres from the high street, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of this attractive town but have the benefit of independent shops, butchers, tearooms and pubs all within 400 metres of the front door. With plenty of space for up to six guests, this cottage is bursting with contemporary character that gives a nod to the home’s former use as a courthouse and offers a warm welcome after a day of exploration.
As soon as you step through the front door, you’re greeted with wonderfully bright and airy interiors with stylish blues and rich wood furnishings. Hang your coat in the hallway that has its original Victorian tiles before stepping through to the former judges’ robing room, now the stunning lounge, where elegant pink and blue tones paired with a huge bay window make this a delightful room to enjoy the morning papers or your favourite book in. Draw the blinds in the evening and light the gas fire in a gorgeous old marble fireplace to create a cosy haven; watch TV snuggled up on the sofas with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand.
Move through to the kitchen/diner, originally part of the courtroom itself, where stylish downlighting and soft, contemporary decor makes it a pleasure to cook in. Beautiful tiled floors and light wood-style worktops give the kitchen a chic feel. Take a couple of steps down into the dining area where a dark wooden table and wooden bench is the perfect dinner spot for six; musical guests can even have a little tinkle on the piano to provide evening entertainment.
When it’s time for bed, climb the stairs and take in the view of the courtroom ceiling beams displayed through glass before choosing your bedroom. Watch your step as there are varying heights on the landing that lead you to the rooms. Both double rooms have tranquil, neutral decor with little splashes of pastel colours and furnishings that give a nod to the building’s former history. The cosy twin bedroom is a perfect little hideaway for children or big kids; just watch your head on the varying ceiling heights! Wooden beams among the vaulted ceilings add tonnes of character.
The stunning bathroom with shower over the bath is ideal for a little indulgence; soak away aches and pains in the bath among contemporary grey tiling blended with more traditional touches like wood panelling and exposed wooden beams. Bright lighting and a trendy mirror mean this is the best place to get ready in if you’re going to one of the wonderful restaurants in town.
Due to the property’s location in the heart of Pateley Bridge, there isn’t an outside space, but you can take strolls along the River Nidd (350 metres) to get a breath of fresh air or visit one of the many attractions in the area to stretch your legs.
