Step inside to an elegant, contemporary and quality decor. With underfloor heating, solid oak floors, doors and stairs, this is a dream holiday home for lovers of luxury and comfort. Let's start with the fabulous handmade kitchen. Sitting in a bright open-plan space and painted in exquisite grey tones, it boasts a huge kitchen island and all mod cons, including a Quooker [hot water tap]. It's a great kitchen for keen cooks, with bar stools providing the perfect spot for a pre-dinner glass of bubbly.

Move along into the generous living room which again has bags of space and is wonderfully light. Snuggle up on the cosy sofa and catch a movie on the large LCD TV with Sonos sound system. Settle down on the stylish leather armchair with a good book, every once in a while glancing out of the window at those stunning views. In the warmer months, throw open the large bi-folding doors and experience the moorland from the comfort of your living room. Electric blinds are a useful touch when you want to shut the world away. Downstairs also has a utility room and WC. There's a Belfast sink in here as well as a washer dryer, a handy addition if you've been out hiking across the moors with wet ground underfoot.

And so to bed. Make your way up the solid oak staircase to the magnificent bedroom. Take a moment to enjoy the lovely handmade king-size bed; dressed in the finest bed linen, it's a bed you simply won't want to leave. There is also a beautiful free-standing bath in this room, where you can indulge in a long hot soak after a day exploring the Dales. Next door sits the fabulous wet room; fully tiled in Italian marble. it feels more like a boutique hotel, with waterfall taps, a monsoon shower and solid granite surfaces.

So now you've explored the stunning interiors, let's take a look outside. You will be greeted with 360-degree vistas across heather and hill, with cosmopolitan Ilkley nestling far below. There's a terrace - perfect for al fresco dining in the summer. And of course the star of the show, the hot tub! If you like to keep one foot on urban ground, head down into Ilkley (5 miles) for the day. Highly regarded for its stylish architecture and beautiful floral displays, there's plenty to see and do in this elegant Victorian town. Take a turn around the gardens down by the river, indulge in afternoon tea at Betty's, explore the many independent shops and boutiques, making sure you pick up something yummy for tea from one of the several upmarket delis in town. And for nights when cooking seems like too much effort, book dinner in one of the town’s superb restaurants.

If you want to venture a little further, the pump house is ideally placed to explore the historic market town of Skipton (15 miles) and the exquisite Yorkshire Dales beyond – a true walker’s paradise. If you're more of a roamer than a rambler, take a stroll around the grounds of nearby Bolton Abbey (10 miles). These striking ruins provide the backdrop to a particularly beautiful part of the Dales and are well worth a visit.

This area of the Yorkshire Dales is home to many charming villages and towns worth exploring. The pretty cobbled streets of Grassington (25 miles) is a drive away, with the village of Kettlewell (28 miles) just a little further. Take the high ground up and across to Wensleydale (26 miles) where you will discover the picture postcard village of West Burton and the beautiful Aysgarth Falls.

And if you want to explore Yorkshire's cities, Leeds is just a short drive away (15 miles) and is packed with designer shops, cafes and top notch restaurants. The gorgeous town of Harrogate (15 miles) is also just a few miles and well worth a day trip. There is just so much to see and do here.

Really loved the cottage and location, lots of places to visit nearby and enjoyable walks over the moors. Don't want to stay too much as we would love to come back next year and don't want it to be fully booked before we can book our holidays.
