This gorgeous ground-floor apartment near the peaceful town of Filey is the perfect coastal retreat for families. With Filey Bay’s vast sandy beach on your doorstep, you and the kids will find it easy to enjoy quality time together and relax into your surroundings. If you’re keen walkers, join the coast path and explore the wild and rugged Yorkshire coastline in either direction or if you’re water sport enthusiasts, take to the water in a canoe. Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, to the south, is popular with birdwatched and wildlife lovers as it has a nature reserve and historians will love exploring the two historic lighthouses. Further afield, yet more treasures can be discovered in nearby Scarborough and Bridlington (both within 10 miles) with plenty on offer for all ages. Filey itself (a 3-mile drive and a shorter walk) is a lovely Edwardian town with quirky independent shops, a range of eateries and a museum; it is a little quieter than other towns on the Yorkshire coast, so it’s a great place to escape the crowds and unwind. For a family day out, you could head to Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park or Playdale Farm Park which are both within 8 miles.
As you step into the hallway, take off your coats and slip off your sandy shoes before heading into the beautifully presented L-shaped lounge. Its bay window enables light to flood the room, whilst elegant décor and a warm palette create an inviting space to relax in. The dining table sits in the window with plenty of room for everyone and the sofa and chairs are a great place to snuggle up of an evening. One of the sofas is also a double sofa-bed allowing for two extra guests. The TV is equipped with the whole Sky package and a DVD player, or for those who like some healthy competition, there are also some board games. Across the hall, you’ll find the bright, good-sized kitchen, equipped with everything you’ll need to rustle up some treats. There is also a breakfast bar for informal snacks or for those too impatient to take food through to the dining room. Leading off the kitchen is the shower room with a large walk-in shower and WC.
The property has two clean, modern bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with bunkbeds. Both are tastefully decorated with white walls and furniture to create a crisp feel and odd pops of blue add a nautical touch.
