Located 17 miles north of York, this romantic cottage ticks every box in terms of interiors, location and charm. It's the perfect choice for couples looking to escape to the country in style.
This cottage has a real chocolate box feel about it with its honey sandstone exterior and calm grey tones inside. Reminiscent of Brittany-style gites, it's like discovering your own adult-sized fairy house at the bottom of the garden.
Step inside to find a stylish and elegant open-plan living space home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area. High beamed ceilings, traditional Yorkshire flagstone floors, hues of grey and immaculate furnishings combine to give a sophisticated appeal.
In the lounge area there's a cosy wood burner to curl up beside and radiators throughout keeping the whole cottage nice and toasty. (A basket of logs is provided and more is available locally if needed).
You have the choice of a comfy sofa protected by a handsome stag or an armchair right in front of the fire. Settle down with a good book and a cup of Yorkshire tea for the afternoon. There's a TV and DVD player available and above the TV an antique cupboard is stocked full of DVDs and books for your entertainment.
Making great use of the space you'll find everything you need in the kitchen to rustle up dinner with all the usual equipment provided. There's a dishwasher, induction hob, oven, microwave and fridge with icebox freezer.
Make your way through to find the bedroom, a surprisingly spacious and romantic room decorated in a French style. This bed is sized as a large double, so plenty of room to stretch out and relax.
Another large sash window offers further views out into the garden and there's a window seat so you can take it all in. In the morning, throw open the curtains, open the window and hop back into bed with the sound of birdsong to welcome in the day.
The bedroom enjoys an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.
There is much to enjoy outside this charming holiday home. A generous garden laid to lawn and bordered by flowerbeds offers plenty of space to throw out a picnic blanket and enjoy the Yorkshire sunshine. A pretty bench sits in front of the barn, the perfect spot for your morning coffee with the sights and sounds of nature all around you.
There's a mini orchard with plum and apple trees to wander around and wildlife abounds here. Birds, pheasants, partridges and even the occasional deer can be spotted from the comfort of your garden. Patio furniture provided is ideal for enjoying balmy summer evenings.
