Again, both bedrooms have sophisticated and stylish decor, whilst vaulted ceilings add to the sense of light and space. Completing the accommodation is a luxurious bathroom with a free-standing bath and separate shower.

Outside, there is a stunning, walled patio area with dining furniture, making it perfect for al fresco dining. After dinner, jump into the private hot tub and soothe your aching legs. There is ample off-road parking for three cars.

Normanby is located within easy reach of many towns and villages, such as the pretty town of Kirkbymoorside (4.5 miles). On the edge of the North York Moors, it has much to offer including a gallery, antique shops, tea rooms, deli, wine shop and butchers. There's also a great market on Wednesdays. Beyond the town lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge (12.5 miles) affords some of the best views in the country and, if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.

Vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns, Pickering and Helmsley are also within 10 miles. Pickering is perfect for a relaxing wander around its pretty houses, shops and tearooms. Grand Georgian architecture stands alongside cosy traditional cottages to create a picture-postcard location with several excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes in the town. The wonderful North York Moors Railway starts in Pickering where you can catch a steam train to Whitby and back again through some of the most picturesque countryside in Yorkshire. The beautiful market town of Helmsley is well worth a visit for its great restaurants, cafes and delis. If you fancy a little pampering, you'll also find a fantastic day spa here.

Normanby is also within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Coast, with the popular resort of Scarborough, the gothic town of Whitby and the picture-postcard fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay all within 30 miles.

For family days out, head to theme park and zoo, Flamingo Land, which is 4.5 miles away, or Eden Camp, a fascinating modern history museum, which is 7 miles away. You're also close to Castle Howard (11 miles) and York (26 miles).

This is a beautifully furnished cottage. The lounge is lovely & cosy with the fire lit, hot tub at night looking at the stars was fantastic. Couple of watch outs, the pictures give an illusion of space which is not reality, this is a lovely, quaint, old cottage & has very low doorways upstairs. We had 5 adults and to be honest it felt cramped, espeRead morecially sitting round the kitchen table. We also had a dog, which we had to take across the (busy!) road for toileting as no grass in the back garden Hide

The pictures as others have mentioned mislead you to the size and layout. TV is very small. If you want a bath, then don't expect hot water, as at best it is tepid to lukewarm regardless of the time of day, never had to use the cold tap all the time we were there. The traffic noise is constant hardly quiet and peaceful! The bed was comfortable and Read morethe hot tub is a nice touch. Hide

The cottage is lovely. In a super location and beautifully furnished. For us its a property for 4 people. The pictures are somewhat generous so our expectations were mismanaged lets say? The cottage was lovely but the photographs on line made the downstairs look a lot bigger than what it is, but saying that it had everything you needed. The holiday was absolutely fabulous, the cottage and it's facilities were 5 star all the way. Spotlessly clean, fantastic kitchen for cooking, having all of the Sky Sports and Cinema channels were a great touch. We had a relaxing break and wouldn't hesitate to both recommend it and visit again.

Genuinely outstanding property decorated, furnished and equipped to the highest possible standards. By far the best we have ever stayed in over many years. Slightly more compact that the photographs suggest but still comfortable for 6 guests. A dog friendly pub serving wholesome food is the only amenity in the hamlet so a car is essential however NRead moreormanby is only a very short drive away from the main tourist attractions so the property is ideal for daytrips and exploring.
