Beautiful recently renovated cottage with everything you need along with the luxury of your own private hot tub.

Immerse yourselves in the natural beauty and tranquillity of the Yorkshire countryside in this gorgeous cottage in the quiet village of Normanby. This is the ideal rural retreat for friends/families who want to spend quality time together in a beautifully-presented, recently refurbished property. Situated just south of the North York Moors National Park, you are well-placed to explore its heather-clad hills and attractive market towns/villages. With walks on your doorstep and a pub and shop within a few hundred metres, you don’t even need to get in the car, but should you want to, there are plenty of attractions/places of interest nearby. After a busy day exploring, head home for a soak in the hot tub and a spot of star-gazing as you enjoy a glass of wine.

Sympathetically renovated, the owners of this Grade II-listed property have paid exquisite attention to detail to ensure original features blend effortlessly with contemporary fixtures and fittings. Statement pieces of furniture and bold patterns and colours add interest and character, whilst creating a homely feel throughout.

On entering, the first room you come to is the wonderful, contemporary-cottage style kitchen/diner. As well as being stylish, it is also well-equipped to ensure you can cook up a storm for you and your guests before sitting down at the industrial style dining table and chairs to eat together. Across the hall, the large lounge is perfect for socialising. Exposed beams and a brick fireplace add charm, whilst the deep sofas are so inviting that you’ll want to snuggle up in front of the wood burner and enjoy a film together on the TV (with Sky TV including Sky Cinema and Sports).

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: a king-size zip-and-link, which can be made up as a twin on request, and a king-size. Again, both bedrooms have sophisticated and stylish decor, whilst vaulted ceilings add to the sense of light and space. Completing the accommodation is a luxurious bathroom with a free-standing bath and separate shower and second bathroom on the ground floor with shower and WC.

Outside, there is a stunning, walled patio area with dining furniture, making it perfect for al fresco dining. After dinner, jump into the private hot tub and soothe your aching legs. There is ample off-road parking for two cars, one small and one large.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request), 1 king-size
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer dryer
  • Wood burner - first basket of logs included
  • Private parking for 2 medium sized cars
  • Garden with furniture and BBQ
  • One small well behaved dog welcome
  • Hot tub
  • Pub within walking distance
  • Wall mounted Smart TV with Sky TV (including movies and sports)
  • Electric car charging facilities available at an additional cost of £50 per week of part thereof, from a standard external plug, payable directly to the owner
  • Please Note - Potting shed is not storage
  • Due to the residential location, single sex parties will not be accepted

Normanby is located within easy reach of many towns and villages, such as the pretty town of Kirkbymoorside (4.5 miles). On the edge of the North York Moors, it has much to offer including a gallery, antique shops, tea rooms, deli, wine shop and butchers. There's also a great market on Wednesdays. Beyond the town lies the North York Moors. A landscape like no other, it's a place of gently rolling hills of heather, ancient woodlands and lazy rivers winding through lush green valleys. If you want to get away from it all take a trip to the top of the high central moorlands. The famous Blakey Ridge (12.5 miles) affords some of the best views in the country and, if walking is your thing, you are surrounded on all sides by some truly stunning routes.

Vibrant and attractive Yorkshire market towns, Pickering and Helmsley are also within 10 miles. Pickering is perfect for a relaxing wander around its pretty houses, shops and tearooms. Grand Georgian architecture stands alongside cosy traditional cottages to create a picture-postcard location with several excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes in the town. The wonderful North York Moors Railway starts in Pickering where you can catch a steam train to Whitby and back again through some of the most picturesque countryside in Yorkshire. The beautiful market town of Helmsley is well worth a visit for its great restaurants, cafes and delis. If you fancy a little pampering, you'll also find a fantastic day spa here.

Normanby is also within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Coast, with the popular resort of Scarborough, the gothic town of Whitby and the picture-postcard fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay all within 30 miles.

For family days out, head to theme park and zoo, Flamingo Land, which is 4.5 miles away, or Eden Camp, a fascinating modern history museum, which is 7 miles away. You're also close to Castle Howard (11 miles) and York (26 miles).

The photos and some of the description details for the cottage are very misleading - particularly regarding the downstairs bedroom (very small, only half the size as shown in the photos on the website due to addition of dining room). We enjoyed our stay but unfortunately it was not what we expected in terms of size and space to suit our needs. Hide

This cottage needs photos updated, the third bedroom was a joke more of a cupboard and you feel totally isolated from the rest of your family. We won't be booking here again.

Loved the house- really tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Quite far out from York- took 45 mins -up to an hour to travel in every day but would not put us off staying here again.

Beautifully decorated cottage giving a wow factor to the holiday. Lovely setting opposite a very pretty church. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas, picturesque market towns, and not far to go for fish and chips at Whitby! It was always a pleasure to return to the cottage for a relaxing evening in the hot tub.
