Some of our very own Gorgeous Cottages have made an appearance in the press recently! Recent coverage for our cottages has included The Guardian, Yorkshire Living and LUXE magazine.
We were absolutely thrilled that three of our very own Gorgeous Cottages were recently featured in The Guardian’s 50 of the best UK cottages for Christmas and the New Year. Darjeeling, Evergreen and Willow House all made the list – we think the editors must have very good taste! Here are some of the reasons they were chosen:
This Grade II listed, bijou property is close to Bedale and a great romantic retreat for couples. The Guardian says:
“A former dovecote on a model farm just outside Patrick Brompton, in Wensleydale, Darjeeling Cottage is one of two holiday cottages that flank a genteel 18th-century house. It’s best suited for walkers (plenty of fine pubs nearby for Christmas lunch), being surrounded by fields and woods and within easy reach of attractions such as Aysgarth Falls. If you’re home in time for sunset you can catch it – along with Hornby Castle – framed through the windows.”
This stylish 2-bedroom cottage in Richmond that works well for couples and families. The Guardian says:
If your Christmas tends to revolve around food, then you could do a lot worse than spend it in Richmond. Evergreen is a gorgeous two-bedroom cottage on the outskirts of town with views of Richmond Castle. Decor is reminiscent of a boutique hotel (purple velvet, bold stripes, rich fabrics) and there’s no skimping on the home entertainment front either, with a Blu-ray player and a Blue-tooth MP3 player among the gizmos. A logburner completes the picture.
A magnificent large holiday home with wood-fired hot tub, that sleeps up to 12 people. The Guardian says:
Promising a really special Christmas, Willow House, a glamorous six-bedroom, five-bathroom Georgian property near Richmond is somewhere Santa wouldn’t want to leave. With three storeys, the family can spread out or cosy up around the roaring fire in the large sitting room. The open plan kitchen/dining room area, with Yorkshire flagstone floors and upcycled church pews, is perfect for feasting, while the orangery offers an alternative dining space with stars twinkling above.
This Yorkshire lifestyle publication has recently featured The Platform, The School House and The Retreat within its glossy pages.
This unique property is built on an old railway platform and has been beautifully designed by owners Pauline and Martin Weston and received a double page spread in Yorkshire Living!
The Retreat was once the holiday home of a former editor of American Vogue, has been featured on More 4’s Homes by the Sea and was recently featured with the Beside the Seaside feature (along with The School House and Wykewood) in Yorkshire Living.
The property has stunning gardens and a lovely spot in the pretty coastal village of Sandsend.
Luxe recently featured Foxglove Cottage and Apple Farm Cottage as one of their picks of chocolate box cottages that make a ‘Lush Hideaway’.
