Yorkshire Artist Stuart Brocklehurst
“Much of my work is based on places I know well and visit often, the Yorkshire Dales in particular from having spent so much time there. As a child my parents had a caravan in the dales where we spent every summer weekend. When I left college I spent three summers in the dales studying Peregrine Falcons for the Yorkshire Naturalist’ Union and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.”

“Other holidays were spent on the East coast, so Filey and Flamborough are also favourite haunts.”
Stuart shows his work at a number of art fairs and print exhibitions across the north of England; the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle, the By Hand Shop at Salford Art Gallery and the Craft Centre and Design Gallery in Leeds all stock his work. He has also had solo exhibitions at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and at Doncaster Art Gallery. Stuart also teachs linocut printmaking at occasional workshops at Prospect Studios in Rossendale and will be teaching a residential weekend workshop at Malham Tarn Field Study Centre in November if you fancy having a go!
